Mount Kailash is sacred in four different religions: Bon, Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. For thousands of years people have made a pilgrimage to Kailash. Pilgrims believe that circumambulating Mount Kailash by foot is a ritual that will bring good fortune. Hindus and Buddhists go clockwise and Jains and Bönpos circumambulate the mountain anticlockwise.
The Mount Kailash Trek is also known as the Kora. The average altitude of this trekking is nearly 5,000 meters. This makes it a challenge which requires great perseverance.
