Aguersioual - Agadir (Ousartk Valley)

Aguersioual is a traditional Berber village set on a sunny plateau overlooking the High Atlas valleys, making it a great place to start today’s trek. After meeting the support team, you’ll set off on foot into the quieter Ousartk Valley, following mule paths that connect small farming hamlets and terraced fields. The route gradually descends through walnut groves, riverbeds, and stone villages, offering a close look at everyday life in the Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll stop for a freshly prepared lunch in a scenic spot. After around four hours of hiking, you’ll arrive in Agadir (Ousartk Valley), where a welcoming guesthouse awaits. This peaceful setting is the perfect place to relax, enjoy a traditional meal, and soak up the mountain atmosphere.

Agadir (Ousartk Valley) - Tamguist

After breakfast in Agadir, tucked away in the quiet Ousartk Valley, you begin a varied day of trekking through an increasingly rugged and impressive landscape. The trail follows narrow mountain paths past cultivated fields and groves of almond and walnut trees, with small Berber hamlets scattered along the hillsides. The route gently ascends and descends, offering beautiful views of surrounding valleys and mountain ridges. Along the way, you walk through areas where traditional rural life is still very much present. Around midday, you’ll stop at a scenic spot for a freshly prepared lunch. In the afternoon, you arrive in the remote village of Tamguist, where a local guesthouse welcomes you for the night. The peaceful atmosphere, warm hospitality, and dramatic mountain setting make this an ideal place to end the day’s hike.

Stage 3: Trekking from Tizi Oussem over the pass to Imlil, and back to Marrakesh

From Tizi Oussem, the day begins with a steep ascent up to the Tizi Mezzik pass at 2,490 meters. If you’re an experienced and energetic hiker, you can opt for a detour to the Irhouldine cascades at 2,600 meters—an impressive waterfall hidden in the Atlas Mountains. Since Imlil sits at the same altitude as your starting point, the route takes you downhill after the pass, winding through scenic trails. After a challenging day of trekking, you’ll arrive in Imlil by the afternoon, where a transfer will take you back to your accommodation in Marrakesh. There, you can unwind and reflect on your incredible journey through the Atlas Mountains, a perfect ending to your Moroccan trekking adventure.

Departure

After a good night’s sleep, you're ready to head back home or dive into your next adventure. But before you pack your bags, we suggest taking a moment to soak up those final moments in Marrakesh. Wander through the vibrant souks one last time, breathe in the rich aroma of fresh spices, or sip on a mint tea while you take in the buzz of Djemaa el Fna square.
