On this eight-day trek around the island, you’ll follow the rugged coastline step by step, circling lighthouses, tasting smoked herring, and sleeping in cozy seaside hotels. The Bornholm Coast Trail is perfect for intermediate hikers looking for an island loop full of variety. You’ll walk from Rønne through Hasle, Gudhjem, Svaneke, Balka, and Boderne before finishing back where you started. From granite cliffs to white dunes, each day reveals a new face of Bornholm. Welcome to Bornholm Denmark’s rocky pearl in the Baltic Sea. After arrival, you settle into your hotel in the island’s main town, Rønne. It’s a place of half-timbered houses, old cobbled alleys, and a lively harbor. Spend the afternoon soaking up the town’s relaxed pace. Visit the beach, walk the waterfront, or grab a table at a local café. Tonight, you sleep by the sea, with the sound of waves marking the start of your coastal trek adventure.

Rønne-Hasle

Your hike begins through pine forests and soft sandy trails just north of Rønne. The route follows the western coast along peaceful woodland in Blykobbe Plantage, where trees whisper and birds flit through the canopy. Hasle - Allinge-Sandvig

You finish the day in Sandvig, nestled between cliffs and the sea. Its little harbor and sandy bay offer a peaceful place to unwind. You’ll feel like you’ve earned your dinner today.

Balka - Boderne

The final stage takes you along Bornholm’s quiet southern coast. The crowds thin, and you find yourself surrounded by dunes, farmland, and the open sea. The trail dips into forests and returns to the beach again before reaching Boderne a tiny harbor village at the edge of the island. There’s not much here, and that’s exactly the point. It’s a calm, quiet ending to a full and beautiful journey.
