Bellver de Cerdanya - Refugi de Cortals de l'Ingla

Duration: 03:05 h
Distance: 7.78 km
Ascent: 530 m
Descent: 10 m

This gentle route climbs from the lively streets of Bellver de Cerdanya into the quiet forests of the Ingla valley, finishing at the welcoming Refugi de Cortals de l'Ingla. The path follows farm tracks and woodland trails, with a steady but never steep ascent that suits children used to walking. Meadows, streams and glimpses of surrounding summits keep the scenery varied and make the walk feel pleasantly adventurous.

Leaving the village, the route crosses gentle farmland before entering pine and beech woods above the Riu de l'Ingla. A clear track leads past the open fields of Camps de Coborriu and climbs steadily toward the rocky walls beneath Roca d'Ingla, passing the side path to Cova Inferior Grau d'Ingla. Higher up, the trail winds between Les Esqueres and Pla de l'Ingla, where wider views open over the valley and the Cadí-Moixeró ridges.

The final section crosses the grassy hollow of Prat de Castillo and continues gently through scattered trees to reach the clearings of Cortals de l'Ingla, where the stone refuge appears on a small rise above the stream. Picnic tables, water and open meadows around the building offer space for children to play and explore while adults relax, enjoy the forest views and get ready for the next outing.

Refugi de Cortals de l'Ingla - Refugi El Serrat de les Esposes

Duration: 04:20 h
Distance: 9.46 km
Ascent: 480 m
Descent: 550 m

Today links two cosy mountain refuges through quiet forests and open high passes. After leaving the valley, the path climbs steadily to panoramic viewpoints on the Moixeró ridge, rewarding the effort with big horizons but no technical sections. Children can enjoy varied terrain, from shady woodland paths to grassy saddles, with plenty of places to rest and play along the way before the long descent toward the next hut.

From the hut the path climbs gently through pine forest towards Pendís Pass, with early views back over the Ingla valley. The ascent steepens on a rocky path to the broad saddle of Pendís, where the scenery opens to the cliffs of Penyes Altes de Moixeró. A balcony traverse leads onwards to Coll del Moixeró, crossing pastures and scattered pines with frequent chances to spot chamois above, near the ridges of Moixeró.

Beyond Moixeró Cabin the trail joins the Cavalls del Vent route and descends more gently through clearings and mixed forest. A final traverse on easy paths leads to the meadows above Refugi El Serrat de les Esposes, where the building appears between the trees. The surroundings are perfect for children to explore before dinner, with open grass, nearby woods and wide views of the Cadí range to enjoy from the terrace.

Refugi El Serrat de les Esposes - Bellver de Cerdanya

Duration: 04:35 h
Distance: 10.8 km
Ascent: 250 m
Descent: 710 m

This route starts from the high meadows around Refugi El Serrat de les Esposes and gradually drops toward the valley of la Cerdanya, finishing in Bellver de Cerdanya. A short initial climb gives last wide views of the Cadí, then the path meanders down through forest, clearings and gentle pastures. Children can enjoy varied, non technical terrain with many natural pauses, from shady woodland corners to open fields dotted with flowers.

From the refuge a forest path rises softly across Els Plans toward the open slopes of la Malesa, with views to nearby summits and wooded ridges. The route then bends along the Serra de la Congulera, passing close to la Congulera at 1287 m before beginning the main descent. Narrow trails wind between pines and rocky outcrops around Perdulat, eventually joining wider tracks and farm roads that lead down toward the valley floor.

Approaching Bellver de Cerdanya the scenery becomes more pastoral, with scattered farmhouses, fields and grazing herds. The trail reaches the edge of the village and follows quiet streets into the historic centre, where stone houses and narrow lanes invite exploration. Here families can celebrate the end of the trek, visit cafés or shops, and let children play in local parks or squares while enjoying wide views back to the Cadí and Moixeró ranges.
