Starting in Monterosso al Mare, this hike follows scenic trails overlooking the Ligurian Sea, winding through terraced vineyards and into charming villages with colorful houses perched on cliffs. Arrival in Monterosso al Mare

Arrive in Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages. Take some time to explore the medieval town center with its historic churches and scenic beach. Monterosso is the perfect starting point for your hiking adventure, with a mix of vibrant colors, seaside charm, and inviting trattorias. Relax with a glass of local wine and get ready to begin your journey along the Cinque Terre trails.

Start your hike from Monterosso along the scenic Sentiero Azzurro (Blue Trail), which hugs the coast and offers breathtaking views of the sea. After a break, continue to Corniglia, the only village not directly on the sea, perched high above the cliffs among vineyards.
