Welcome to northern France! Today you arrive in Calais, the gateway to the Côte d’Opale. You’ll check into a comfortable hotel near the coast. Enjoy your first evening at leisure and prepare for your adventure.

Calais (Cap Blanc-Nez) - Wissant

After breakfast, your trek begins at the dramatic white cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez. Following coastal paths and sandy stretches, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the English Channel and encounter remnants of WWII history. After this long stage, you arrive in the fishing village of Wissant, where you’ll stay overnight in a pleasant seaside accommodation.

Wissant -Ambleteuse (via Cap Gris-Nez)

After breakfast, today’s hike takes you south towards Cap Gris-Nez, the closest point to England. On clear days you may see the White Cliffs of Dover across the Channel. The trail continues through bird reserves and dunes before you arrive in Ambleteuse, home to a historic coastal fort. Overnight stay in a charming accommodation by the sea.

Today marks the final stage of your Côte d’Opale adventure. The path leads you along sandy beaches and lively promenades, with sea breezes accompanying you all the way to Boulogne-sur-Mer. Departure from Boulogne-sur-Mer

Your journey along the Côte d’Opale comes to an end. Take a moment to enjoy the atmosphere of this bustling coastal city before making your way back to Calais or Sangatte to collect your car. Of course, you can also choose to extend your stay and continue exploring northern France’s coast.

    You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport. This also applies to any transport from the end point of your trail.

  • Transfers

    If you require any form of public or local transport during the trek, it is not included in the package unless stated otherwise. This applies to taxis, buses, cable cars, gondolas, and similar services.

  • Travel Insurance

    Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.

  • Lunch and Dinner

    Breakfast is, if possible, included in the price of the trek. You can get lunch and dinner at the shops, hotels, and restaurants along the way.
