Turnov - Hrubá Skála

Duration: 02:50 h
Distance: 9.7 km
Ascent: 270 m
Descent: 180 m

Your adventure in the Bohemian Paradise begins when you leave the town of Turnov behind. Follow the forest paths through the lush Podtrosecká Valley and into a world of sandstone rock towers and tranquil woodland trails.

After two kilometres, you will encounter a steeper climb, which will take you to an altitude of just over 400 metres — the highest point of the day. From there, the trail flattens out again for a while. Soon after, take a moment to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Devil's Hand with its jagged cliffs and forests, before a zigzagging trail leads you to the foot of Čertova Ruka — an impressive cliff dominating the horizon.

The best part comes next: a stairway through a rock crevice. Wind your way through the vertical sandstone walls and emerge among the famous rock pillars of Bohemian Paradise. En route, you will pass numerous springs, water fountains, and benches where you can rest and admire the scenery. Once you see Adam's Bed, a sculpted sandstone formation in the rock, you'll know you're almost there.

The final section takes you through a narrow gorge flanked by towering sandstone cliffs. Eventually, the towers reveal your destination: Hrubá Skála Castle. Well done!

Optional: Since today is a short day, why not take the opportunity to visit Svatý Josef and explore the Hruboskalsko Rock Labyrinth? You could also admire the Pulverturm rock formation and stone staircase and climb up to the Powder Tower, also known as Prachovna.

Hrubá Skála - Libošovice

Duration: 02:30 h
Distance: 9.3 km
Ascent: 100 m
Descent: 160 m

Today’s stage begins at the romantic Hrubá Skála Castle, which is perched on top of a rock formation. If you didn't have time to visit all the area's tourist attractions yesterday, make the most of this morning, as today's stage is short too.

The trail then descends gently into forested valleys dotted with sandstone formations. As you leave the castle behind, follow the path through the enchanting Věžové Valley, where dense forests and sculpted rock towers set the tone for the day ahead.

Around halfway through the stage, you will walk alongside the tranquil Jordánka Lake, surrounded by woods. Continue through rolling countryside and narrow woodland trails. The terrain undulates gently with short climbs and descents, making it a comfortable yet scenic hike. The route is a mosaic of forest corridors and open fields, providing the perfect opportunity to spot deer or listen to birdsong.

Soon after, the trail ends in Libošovice, a quiet village nestled among low hills — the perfect place to rest and recharge with a cold Czech beer while enjoying views of the surrounding countryside. Day two is complete, and the Bohemian adventure will continue tomorrow.

Libošovice - Mnichovo Hradiště

Duration: 04:25 h
Distance: 16.5 km
Ascent: 160 m
Descent: 220 m

Today's stage will take you from the village of Libošovice to the town of Mnichovo Hradiště. Starting at the Church of St Procopius, the route quickly leads you onto forested paths, taking you to the first highlight of the day: Kost Castle, which is nestled between two lakes. Take your time to explore the grounds before continuing along the southern shore of the second lake. Here, you will walk along a scenic path featuring rock formations and caves, providing a truly fairy-tale setting.

Next, you will enter a pine forest: a mostly flat, sandy trail that winds through endless pinewoods. After a short 50-metre section along a quiet paved road, follow the trail deeper into the forest. Soon, you will arrive at Komárovský Rybník, a peaceful lake near the village of Nová Ves.

Continue through the woods and climb briefly up Věžička, where you will find the romantic ruins of Valečov castle perched atop the rocks. After a well-earned break, follow the short section of road and then re-enter the rolling landscape of fields and forest corridors. The trail ends in Masaryk Square in Mnichovo Hradiště, where you can relax and reflect on your beautiful last day in Bohemian Paradise in the cafés and quiet streets.
