Today, your journey begins in the charming spa town of Cauterets, where the scent of pine and the sound of waterfalls set the mood for adventure. The trail climbs gently at first before becoming steeper and rockier as you ascend through the Vallée d’Ilhéou. The scenery transforms quickly—wooded paths give way to alpine meadows and open rock faces where you may spot marmots or eagles soaring above.

After a final push, you reach the turquoise shores of Lac d’Ilhéou, nestled beneath jagged peaks. The Refuge d’Ilhéou sits right by the water, offering breathtaking views and a cozy atmosphere for your first mountain evening. Dinner at the hut is included.

Tip: Stroll around the lake before sunset—the golden light reflecting on the water makes for unforgettable photos. Bring a warm layer; nights at 1,988 m can be brisk even in summer.

From here, the route continues through lush forest back to Cauterets, where the air grows warmer and the valley widens. It’s the perfect conclusion to your 3-day adventure—short, scenic, and full of unforgettable moments.

    During your Pyrenees, you will spend your nights in mountain huts. You'll sleep here in dormitories, as the booked mountain huts don't have any private rooms.

  • Traveling to and from

    You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport.

  • Transfers

    Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas, ferries, etc.

  • Lunch

    Half-board is included in the price of this trek. Lunch, however, is not. You can get something to eat at the mountain huts along the way.

  • Travel Insurance
