The Graubünden (Grisons) region is famous for its enchanting winter season. However, few people know about its charm during Spring and Summer. From June to October, the snow melts and reveals adventurous trekking trails, like the Tescht Trek.

The 4-day Tescht Trek is a Swiss classic and one of the most beautiful treks in the region of Graubünden. On this trek, you will cross the Flüela and the Albula Passes and you will spend your nights in cozy mountain huts. On your last day, you will visit Lai da Palpuogna, described by the locals as the most beautiful lake in Switzerland.

The Tescht Trek is very diverse and guides its visitors through wide valleys, glaciers, steep rock formations, and emerald blue lakes. Get your hiking boots ready and discover this Swiss gem in the canton of the Grisons!

1

Colfosco Cable Car Station - Rifugio Puez

Duration: 02:30 h
Distance: 4.93 km
Ascent: 640 m
Descent: 20 m
Begin at the Colfosco Cable Car Station and take the lift up to the trailhead. From the top, your trek sets off with wide views over the Puez-Odle Nature Park and the village of Colfosco below. The path climbs steadily, passing the small St. Francis Chapel, while the terrain becomes increasingly rugged. Continue towards Forcella Ciampei — reaching this pass means you’re already more than halfway there. On the other side, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping vistas of Vallunga and Selva di Val Gardena. From here, the route gradually unfolds until Rifugio Puez comes into view, marking your goal for the day.

Rifugio Puez - Rifugio Firenze - Seceda

Duration: 05:45 h
Distance: 11.3 km
Ascent: 650 m
Descent: 650 m

You kick off your hike in Patsch, a small village just above Innsbruck. Quick ride up, boots on, off you go. Prefer to skip the climb? There’s a cable car waiting for you.

The trail winds through autumn forests and open alpine meadows. Golden larches, fire-red maples, crystal-clear air. Quiet paths, big views — classic late-season magic.

After five to six hours, you reach the hut. Pack off, boots off, schnaps on the table. And then the evening kicks in: local musicians play traditional alpine tunes and the hut fills with that laid-back, mountain kind of warmth.
