> A true hut-to-hut trek experience
> Best of version of the Kaiserkrone
The Kaiserkrönchen, or "Kaiser's Little Crown," is the Wilder Kaiser in its purest form. No fluff, just the best parts of the Kaiserkrone in a compact trek. You get rugged limestone peaks, sweeping ridgelines, and proper hut-to-hut hiking. Fewer days, same adventure. Perfect if you want the real deal but can’t spare a full week.
The route is straightforward and circular: well-marked trails, solid climbs, and big views. Each night, you land in a traditional Austrian mountain hut, where a warm meal and good company await. No need to overthink it. This is the Wilder Kaiser, distilled. If you’re short on time but want maximum reward, the Kaiserkrönchen is your trek.
Get ready for today with a tough challenge at the end of the stage. The first hours start quietly and 7 kilometers, narrow paths, bridges and several stairs further, you will reach the lowest point of this stage: 840 meters. You finish today with an intensive ascent of about 720 meters, spread over 3.5 kilometers.
After passing the Anton-Karg-Haus you are at the foot of this challenge. It's a tough part of the hike but luckily you can enjoy a cold beer once you've conquered the climb and arrived at the Stripsenjochhaus. Cheers!
We will take care of arranging accommodation on the Kaiserkrone for you. We will also provide you with a detailed itinerary for every stage and instructions on how to get to the trailhead.
We will send you on your way with a digital travel guide that includes a route description for the Kaiserkrone, interactive hiking maps, and the most important information applicable to your trek
During your Kaiserkrone, you will spend your nights in mountain huts. In the mountain huts we normally only book dormitories, but we can look into private rooms on request. If the private rooms are fully booked or not available in the hut, we automatically book a bed in dormitories for you. Please note that private rooms are more expensive and there will be an additional charge for this.
Accommodation at the huts includes dinner and breakfast. We will arrange this for you as well. This allows you to travel lighter and have one less thing to worry about. Bear in mind that lunch is not included, but it can be purchased at the huts. Here you can also buy an array of snacks and bottled water.
You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport.
Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas etc.
Half-board is included in the price of this trek. Lunch, however, is not. You can get something to eat at the mountain huts along the way.
Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.
Personal expenses on such as souvenirs, drinks, and other similar expenses are for your own account.
