Mount Triglav is undoubtedly Slovenia's best-known and most visited mountain. This 5-day, self-guided trek to Mount Triglav combined with the Triglav Lakes combines the best of both worlds. Self-guided, but with remote support where needed!

Mount Triglav has numerous excellent trails from several surrounding valleys leading to the summit. If you choose this trek, your adventure will start in Bled, according to many the most beautiful place in Slovenia. The route to the summit is challenging, so the satisfaction at the top is all the greater. On a clear and sunny day, you can see far across the Julian Alps from Mount Triglav, all the way to the Grossglockner in the northwest and down to the Adriatic in the south. Once you cross the summit, you'll trek to the Triglav Lakes Valley where you'll pass several Triglav lakes. Your adventure ends at Lake Bohinj where transport will be waiting for you to drive back to Bled. Conquer the roof of Slovenia and visit the most beautiful places in the country!

Lake Bohinj - Mostnica Gorge - Dom Planika pod Triglavom (2401m)

From Stara Fuzina, the village next to the lake, your trekking adventure begins. Turn onto a forest path to arrive at Mostnica Gorge after about a kilometer and a half. A beautiful gorge with clear blue water. You cross the Devil's Bridge towards the Voje Valley. There is a nice saga about this bridge, perhaps a Slovenian you meet along the way will tell you more about it. Once crossed, you continue your journey through the Voje Valley to arrive at your accommodation for the night; Dom Planika pod Triglavom (2401m) in the afternoon. After a hike of about 8 hours, you may enjoy a well-deserved rest here.

The next day starts early, and you face an immediate challenge! Today the via ferrata is on the programme, because only then can you reach the summit of Mount Triglav. After some supposed ticks against the butt with a rope and capturing the Alja Tower you will start the descent towards the Triglav Lakes. This day, too, you'll be on the road for at least eight hours, so once you arrive at Koca pri Triglavskih jezerih (1685m), the shoes come off and you can enjoy a tasty štruklji. Sleep well!

Included

  • Booking the huts

    We will take care of arranging accommodation on the Mount Triglav Climb for you. We will also provide you with a detailed itinerary for every stage and instructions on how to get to the trailhead.

  • Full travel guide

    We will send you on your way with a digital travel guide that includes a route description for the Mount Triglav Climb, interactive hiking maps, and the most important information applicable to your trek

  • Accommodation

    During your Mount Triglav Climb, you will spend your nights in mountain huts. In the mountain huts we normally only book dormitories, but we can look into private rooms on request. If the private rooms are fully booked or not available in the hut, we automatically book a bed in dormitories for you. Please note that private rooms are more expensive and there will be an additional charge for this.

  • Half-board

    Accommodation at the huts includes dinner and breakfast. We will arrange this for you as well. This allows you to travel lighter and have one less thing to worry about. Bear in mind that lunch is not included, but it can be purchased at the huts. Here you can also buy an array of snacks and bottled water.

  • Accommodation before and after the tour

    Accommodation before and after the trek is included. Breakfast is part of your stay.

  • Traveling to and from

    You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport.

  • Transfers

    Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas etc.

  • Lunch

    Half-board is included in the price of this trek. Lunch, however, is not. You can get something to eat at the mountain huts along the way.

  • Travel Insurance

    Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.

  • Personal expenses

    Personal expenses on such as souvenirs, drinks, and other similar expenses are for your own account.

  • Via Ferrata equipment

    Via Ferrata equipment (helmet, harness, via ferrata set) are not included in the price, but will be available for rent in the town(s) close to the starting point.
