This two-day hiking adventure through the Mullerthal blends beautiful nature with good vibes and a touch of spontaneity. The trails wind through dense forests, along gentle streams, and between dramatic rock formations that feel straight out of a storybook. Along the way, there’s time for everything that makes a trip truly memorable: solid hiking stretches, relaxed lunch breaks with a bottle of wine, and even a spontaneous Eurovision sing-along that briefly turns the forest into a stage. The mix of scenic landscapes, small adventures, and playful moments creates an experience that’s as charming as the Mullerthal itself — a hike that stays with you, and leaves you smiling long after you’ve finished.

A Trail of Tunes and Good Times

Duration: 04:50 h
Distance: 17.5 km
Ascent: 220 m
Descent: 380 m
Lowest Point: 120 m
Highest Point: 380 m
The day kicks off in high spirits on the winding trails of Mullerthal. The air is fresh, the backpacks are full, and the mood is top-notch. Before long, you’re weaving between rocks and trees like contestants on a Luxembourg edition of Survivor — only with better paths and fewer coconuts. Halfway through the route, the big moment arrives: Luc decides to take things up a notch and carries Remco’s bag in addition to his own. Sherpa Luc has officially entered the chat. A sunny bench becomes the perfect lunch spot, complete with a bottle of wine — because who says hiking and a bit of style don’t mix? With rosy cheeks and full bellies, you set off again. The scenery gets more dramatic, the jokes get worse, and right around the three-quarter mark, Luc bursts into a Eurovision song. The forest didn’t see it coming, but it’s secretly impressed. The final stretch flies by, carried by good vibes, teamwork, and just the right amount of musical flair.

Deep Gorges & Narrow Trails

Duration: 05:50 h
Distance: 19.9 km
Ascent: 460 m
Descent: 310 m
Lowest Point: 220 m
Highest Point: 460 m
After a couple of well-deserved beers at the hostel in Echternach, the second day begins with that perfect mix of fresh air and a touch of laziness — exactly how a holiday morning should feel. The trail quickly dives deeper into the Müllerthal, winding past impressive rock formations and through quiet gorges that seem to appear out of nowhere. The route is varied and at times a bit challenging: narrow paths, steeper climbs, and twisting forest trails keep things interesting. Along the way, there’s plenty of time to pause, catch your breath, and take in the surroundings — every bend seems to reveal a new view. As the kilometers add up, that familiar hiking rhythm sets in: tired but content, with nothing but the sound of your footsteps and nature around you. A perfect second day, full of peace, adventure, and the unique charm of the Müllerthal.
