Ovronnaz - Cabane du Fenestral

Duration: 04:15 h
Distance: 8.14 km
Ascent: 1090 m
Descent: 50 m

The Tour des Muverans starts strong. Leaving Ovronnaz behind, the trail climbs steadily through alpine pastures, forests, and rocky trails, always with sweeping views over the Rhône valley behind you.

You pass picnic spots and panoramic viewpoints, with the landscape opening up more and more as you gain altitude. The trail briefly levels out, then follows the flank of the mountains past Six Armaille and into the heart of the alpine zone.

One of the final highlights is the "Vue sur le Mont Blanc" — and yes, it delivers. From there, the last push to the Cabane du Fenestral is a quiet climb into the high country. At the hut, you’re rewarded with glacier views and true alpine solitude. One day in, and it’s already epic.

Cabane de la Tourche - Pont du Nant

Duration: 05:10 h
Distance: 10.5 km
Ascent: 450 m
Descent: 1370 m

The final stage starts with big views and an even bigger sense of achievement. From Cabane de la Tourche, the trail descends gradually over open slopes with the Dents du Midi teasing you on the horizon.

The route winds past Pointe des Perris Blancs and slowly transitions from rocky terrain to grassy ridgelines. This is where the wild turns mellow — mountain silence, rolling pastures, and perhaps a herd of ibex watching from above.

The descent continues through pine forest and alpine meadows until you reach Pont de Nant, the peaceful end point of the circuit. Time for one last deep breath, a final look up at the massif you just circled, and then… maybe a beer.
