The Stubaier Höhenweg, or the Stubai High Trail, is one of the most beautiful hut-to-hut hikes in the Austrian Alps. The trail begins in the village of Neustift in Stubaital in the heart of Tyrol, not far from Innsbruck. The Stubaier Höhenweg is considered a highlight among Austrian hut hikes and can be completed by young and old alike, provided they are well-prepared.
During this 3-day trek in the Alps, you hike two of the most beautiful stages and stay each night in scenic mountain huts. This version of the Höhenweg starts at the Dresdner Hut and ends at the Sulzenau Hut. Tourismusverband Stubaital ensures that your stay at all huts on the Höhenweg is arranged. Half board will also be booked for you, so you don’t need to carry food along the way. Just relax and enjoy this family friendly trek, even when you're not hiking.
Important: Although the days are relatively short, the terrain can be quite challenging and exposed in some sections. We recommend this trek for families with older children (8 years and up) who have previous mountain hiking experience.
