Join us for an 8-day adventure to conquer Jbel Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak! Every Sunday, you’ll set off with a diverse group of up to 12 trekkers, all eager to soak in the raw beauty of Morocco. After arriving in Marrakesh on Saturday, we’ll journey through charming Berber villages, staying in cozy guesthouses and immersing ourselves in local culture, all under the expert guidance of our local team.

With a well-paced itinerary, this extended trek ensures you acclimatize properly, making the climb both comfortable and incredibly rewarding. Arrival in Marrakech

Today, you will arrive in Marrakesh, where we have arranged a room at traditional riad for you. Spend the afternoon exploring this vibrant city, known for its bustling markets, stunning palaces, and rich history. Enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine, and take in the sights and sounds of the medina. Be sure to rest well before your trek to the heart of the Atlas Mountains!

Aguersioual - Agadir

From Aguersioual, the route leads toward Agadir in the Ousartk Valley, following clear hiking paths that climb gently above the village. As you walk higher, you’ll enjoy beautiful views over terraced fields, small farms, and traditional Berber villages scattered across the mountainsides.

The trail takes you through a mix of rocky paths and green cultivated areas, where you can see everyday village life along the way. You’ll pass stone houses, irrigation channels, and sometimes meet locals or see animals grazing in the fields.

The route goes up and down through open mountain landscapes, making it a challenging but rewarding walk. The changing views and quiet surroundings make the effort worthwhile.

Towards the end of the day, the path descends into the lush Ousartk Valley, where palm trees and greener land appear. The walk finishes in the peaceful village of Agadir, a relaxing place to end your first day on the trail.

Agadir - Tamguist

Leaving the village of Agadir behind, today’s walk takes you deeper into the Ousartk Valley. The trail starts gently, following quiet paths through green fields and cultivated land, creating a relaxed and scenic beginning to the day.

The route then moves into more open terrain, where the landscape becomes drier and wider. You’ll walk on unpaved mountain paths with lovely views over valleys and hills, while passing small Berber villages that add a cultural touch to the hike.

With rolling terrain and no long, steep climbs, this stage feels more comfortable than the previous day. It’s a pleasant walk that allows you to enjoy the surroundings at an easy pace.

As you approach Tamguist, the path climbs slightly before descending into the village. Surrounded by greenery and mountain slopes, Tamguist offers a peaceful and authentic setting to end the day’s hike.

Tamguist - Aremd

The route between Tamguist and Aremd follows quiet mountain paths through a landscape that slowly changes as you walk. The surroundings feel open and peaceful, with wide views across the High Atlas and plenty of space to enjoy the walk at a steady pace.

The trail continues across rocky hillsides and along gentle ridges, passing shepherd paths and small clusters of houses. This part of the trek offers a clear picture of everyday life in the mountains, shaped by the terrain and the seasons.

A longer climb forms the main physical effort of the day, but it is gradual and manageable. As you gain height, the valleys below become more visible, making the walk feel varied and engaging without being overwhelming.

Later on, the route heads down toward the Imlil Valley, where the landscape becomes greener again. Terraced fields and walnut trees line the approach to Aremd, a well-known Berber village and a comfortable place to end the day’s hike.

Aremd - Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons

The route from Aremd to Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons follows a wide mountain valley that gradually becomes more open and rocky. Early on, the path passes terraced fields and stone houses before moving into a more rugged landscape.

As you continue uphill, the scenery changes from green valley areas to dry mountain terrain. Small streams, rocky slopes, and scattered vegetation line the trail, while the surrounding mountains grow taller and more prominent.

Further along, the route crosses open ground with long views back toward the Imlil Valley. The path is clear and well used, and the environment feels increasingly alpine as the altitude increases.

The final part of the route leads through a rocky valley toward Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons. The refuge sits in a stark mountain setting, surrounded by steep slopes and high peaks, marking the transition into the high mountains.

Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons - Toubkal Summit and Back to the Refuge

The day starts before dawn, under a sky full of stars. Boots on, headlamp ready, and you’re off for the final ascent. The trail is tough, steep and rocky, but as the horizon starts to glow, you know it’s worth it. Reaching the summit at 4,167 meters, you’ll be greeted by a sunrise over the Atlas Mountains that will stay with you forever. After soaking it all in, it’s time to head back down to Refuge Les Mouflons. A warm meal, good company, and the satisfaction of conquering North Africa’s highest peak await.

Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons - Imlil, Transfer to Marrakesh

After a good night’s rest, it’s time to head back down. The trail leads you through the familiar Berber villages and lush valleys, with the peaks of Toubkal fading behind. By lunchtime, you’ll be back in Imlil, where it all began. From there, you’ll be driven back to Marrakesh for one final night in a riad.

Departure

After a good night’s sleep, you're ready to head back home or dive into your next adventure. But before you pack your bags, we suggest taking a moment to soak up those final moments in Marrakesh. Wander through the vibrant souks one last time, breathe in the rich aroma of fresh spices, or sip on a mint tea while you take in the buzz of Djemaa el Fna square.

    During your trek, you will at all times be accompanied by an English speaking guide.

  • Accommodation before and after the tour

    Accommodation before and after the trek is included. Breakfast is part of your stay.

  • Water

    Enough drinking water will be provided during the trip.

  • Muleteer for luggage transport

    A muleteer will be there to assist with transporting all the necessary equipment, luggage, food, etc.

    This trip does not include costs for transportation (flights, bus travel, etc.) to your destination.

  • Personal expenses

    Personal expenses such as souvenirs, drinks at the bar and other similar expenses are your own responsibility.

  • Sleeping bag

    You must bring your own sleeping bag with you. You can rent a sleeping bag from your trekking company.

  • Tipping

    Gratuities for the guide are not covered by the trek's price. The amount to tip is at your discretion, yet if you've received excellent service from your guide, considering a generous tip is appreciated.

  • Travel Insurance
