Join us for an 8-day adventure to conquer Jbel Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak! Every Sunday, you’ll set off with a diverse group of up to 12 trekkers, all eager to soak in the raw beauty of Morocco. After arriving in Marrakesh on Saturday, we’ll journey through charming Berber villages, staying in cozy guesthouses and immersing ourselves in local culture, all under the expert guidance of our local team.

Today, you will arrive in Marrakesh, where we have arranged a room at traditional riad for you. Spend the afternoon exploring this vibrant city, known for its bustling markets, stunning palaces, and rich history. Stage 1: From ski-resort Oukaïmeden to Imi Oughlad

Believe it or not, Morocco has a ski resort! Oukaïmeden might be known for its winter slopes, but in summer, it’s a peaceful alpine retreat and the perfect place to kick off your trek. You’ll meet the porters and their mules here, so you can hike luggage-free as you make your way downhill through charming Berber villages. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch, where local cooks will whip up a delicious meal. After about five hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at a cozy guesthouse in Imi Oughlad, ready to relax and soak in the local vibes.

Stage 2: From Imi Oughlad to Tizi Oussem

On this day, you’ll start gaining altitude with a steady climb up to the Tizi-n-Tacht pass at 2,000 meters, offering great views of the valleys below. The path winds through terraced fields and rugged landscapes, eventually bringing you to the remote village of Tizi Oussem at 1,850 meters.

Stage 3: Trekking from Tizi Oussem over the pass to Imlil

From Tizi Oussem, the day begins with a steep ascent up to the Tizi Mezzik pass at 2,490 meters. If you’re an experienced and energetic hiker, you can opt for a detour to the Irhouldine cascades at 2,600 meters—an impressive waterfall hidden in the Atlas Mountains. Since Imlil sits at the same altitude as your starting point, the route takes you downhill after the pass, winding through scenic trails. After a challenging day of trekking, you’ll arrive in Imlil by the afternoon, ready for some well-deserved rest.

Stage 4: From Imlil to Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons

Most climbers start their Mount Toubkal adventure from Imlil, and today, we’re on that same well-trodden path. It’s a day of steady ascent, and you’ll likely share the trail with other trekkers making their way to the Toubkal Refuge. On the way, we pass the sacred site of Sidi Chamharouch, a popular pilgrimage spot, though its shrine is reserved for Muslims only. The trail is lively, lined with stalls selling freshly squeezed orange juice and local souvenirs, adding some color to the climb. After about 5 hours, we’ll arrive at Refuge Les Mouflons for tomorrow’s early summit attempt. Get a good rest; the big day is just around the corner!

Stage 5: From Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons to Toubkal Summit and Back to the Refuge

The day starts before dawn, under a sky full of stars. Boots on, headlamp ready, and you’re off for the final ascent. The trail is tough, steep and rocky, but as the horizon starts to glow, you know it’s worth it. Reaching the summit at 4,167 meters, you’ll be greeted by a sunrise over the Atlas Mountains that will stay with you forever. After soaking it all in, it’s time to head back down to Refuge Les Mouflons. A warm meal, good company, and the satisfaction of conquering North Africa’s highest peak await.

Stage 6: From Refuge Toubkal Les Mouflons to Imlil, Transfer to Marrakesh

After a good night’s rest, it’s time to head back down. The trail leads you through the familiar Berber villages and lush valleys, with the peaks of Toubkal fading behind. By lunchtime, you’ll be back in Imlil, where it all began. From there, you’ll be driven back to Marrakesh for one final night in a riad.

Departure

After a good night’s sleep, you're ready to head back home or dive into your next adventure. But before you pack your bags, we suggest taking a moment to soak up those final moments in Marrakesh. Wander through the vibrant souks one last time, breathe in the rich aroma of fresh spices, or sip on a mint tea while you take in the buzz of Djemaa el Fna square.

    Enough drinking water will be provided during the trip.

    A muleteer will be there to assist with transporting all the necessary equipment, luggage, food, etc.

  • Travel Insurance
