Duration: 02:45 h
Distance: 5.3 km
Ascent: 670 m
Descent: 40 m
Lowest Point: 1350 m
Highest Point: 1980 m

Leave the Gamplüt Mountain Restaurant behind and follow the winding path as it slips into the quiet embrace of the Alpstein. Just 800 meters in, you’ll find the perfect excuse to pause—here, the mighty Churfirsten stretch across the horizon, their rugged peaks standing guard over the valley below.

Keep going, and the trail leads you 600 meters further to another hidden delight: the Alp Tesel Valley. It’s a place where green pastures roll away beneath your feet, and the mountains frame the scene like a postcard. Take a moment, breathe it in.

About 3 kilometers from your start, the trail begins to rise with a little more determination. The climb is steady and rewarding, drawing you deeper into the wild folds of the Alpstein. And then, as if from nowhere, the Toblerone Mountain appears—sharp and unmistakable—guiding your steps over the last 2 kilometers. Its jagged silhouette watches over you all the way to the Zwinglipasshütte, where a warm welcome and sweeping views await.

Duration: 02:40 h
Distance: 6.13 km
Ascent: 170 m
Descent: 640 m
Lowest Point: 1480 m
Highest Point: 2110 m

From the Zwinglipasshütte, the trail winds gently across the ridge, where jagged peaks and wide skies greet you right from the start. About a kilometer in, you’ll reach Chreialpfirst, a perfect lookout where the towering Altmann commands the horizon—a striking reminder of the Alpstein’s wild beauty.

The path climbs further to Mutschensattel at 2,070 meters, where the sharp ridges of the Kreuzberge stretch out below. After soaking in the views, the trail dips down into gentler terrain. Duration: 02:40 h
Distance: 5.5 km

Leave the Hundsteinhütte and follow the trail as it traces the edge of the Fählensee. Soon after, the path turns upward, climbing steadily for 700 meters through rocky slopes and alpine meadows. The peaks grow taller, and every step brings a wider view.

Around the five-kilometer mark, you’ll reach the Zwinglipass—a broad, open saddle at nearly 2,000 meters. Here, the wind hums between jagged ridges, and on clear days, you might glimpse Lake Zurich in the far distance. It’s the perfect place to pause, picnic, and soak up the stillness of the high Alps.

From the pass, a final 300-meter stretch leads you gently to the Zwinglipasshütte. Tucked among the peaks, the hut is a welcome sight—ready with warm drinks, cozy corners, and views that stretch to the horizon.
