The Alta Via 4 is one of the most dramatic hut-to-hut treks in the Italian Dolomites. Stretching from San Candido in the north to Pieve di Cadore in the south, this high-alpine route guides you through limestone spires, glacial valleys, and rugged passes. All with a front-row seat to the region’s most striking peaks! Expect wild terrain, challenging trails, and jaw-dropping scenery every step of the way.
Along the way, you'll pass iconic sights like Lago di Sorapiss and Misurina, traverse near the mighty Cima Grande (2,999 m), and gaze up at Punta Tre Sorelle (3,005 m). Between Cortina d’Ampezzo in the west and Auronzo di Cadore in the east, you’ll move through the raw heart of the Dolomiti d’Ampezzo Natural Park. Although not as well known as AV1 or AV2, Alta Via 4 is designed for experienced hikers and is no less epic.
