Pull on your hiking boots and try and track down the elusive Ethiopian wolf. This beautiful animal finds his home in the Bale Mountains, also known as the Urgoma Mountains. Find this beautiful unspoiled part of Ethiopia in the Southeast of the country.
The Bale Mountains were created by volcanic fires and ancient glacial ice. Bale Mountains National Park is situated about 400 kilometers from the capital Addis Ababa, and although not the sunniest corner of the country, the mountains are home to mountain nyalas, Menelik’s bushbucks, warthogs, and bohor reedbucks.
Another great drawcard for trekking in the Bale Mountains is the Abyssinian rose, Juniper-Hagenia forests and the Harrenna Forest. Choose nature and go trek on the Sanetti Plateau in the Bale Mountains!
