>Take a beautiful loop along different Triglav Lakes >Ideal option for a hut tour outside the usual season >Visit the Savica waterfall > Experience one of the most impressive hiking routes in Slovenia!
Embark on a magnificent loop around various Triglav Lakes, an ideal option for a hut-to-hut trek beyond the usual season. Explore the stunning Savica Waterfall as you begin your journey. This hike along the Triglav Lakes is one of the most impressive trails in Slovenia, perfect for adventurous travelers seeking a challenging yet unforgettable hiking experience. Starting and ending at the enchanting Lake Bohinj, the route will lead you through breathtaking landscapes and panoramic vistas.
On the first day, you'll trek along the mesmerizing Savica Waterfall, reaching your first overnight stop at Koca pod Bogatinom. The second day presents the greatest challenge, as you embark on a 15 km loop around various Triglav Lakes. You can also opt to conquer some of the surrounding peaks for an extra adrenaline rush. On the third day, you have the option to return to Lake Bohinj following the same route as day one or choose an alternative path that takes you through the magnificent Mostnica Gorge. This alternative route spans nearly 21 km and should not be underestimated, but the rewards are truly worth it.
The starting point for this trek is Lake Bohinj. From the western shores of the lake, you will hike along the Savica Waterfall to your overnight accommodation at Koca pod Bogatinom.
Optional: It is also possible to begin this hike from Bovec. This may be inconvenient if you are using private transportation to reach the starting point, but it's ideal for those relying on public transportation. An additional advantage is that you will pass by another Triglav Lake, Krnsko Jezero, which is definitely worth a visit. Please consult our trekking experts for more information on this option.
Today, you will embark on a loop around various Triglav Lakes. Crno Jezero, the Black Lake, sits at an altitude of nearly 1300m and is surrounded by steep cliffs. It's a beautiful spot for a brief stop. This lake also serves as the source for the Savica Waterfall, which you encountered on day 1. Next, you will pass by Dvojno Jezero, the Double Lake, which will be another highlight along the route. If there has been sufficient rainfall, these two lakes merge to form a larger lake.
Jezero v Ledvicah (optional) You can optionally add this lake to your itinerary as well. From Dvojno Jezero, you can hike north into the valley until you reach Lake Ledvicah. You will descend using the same route to continue along the original path.
We will send you on your way with a digital travel guide that includes a route description for the Julian Alps, interactive hiking maps, and the most important information applicable to your trek
During your Julian Alps, you will spend your nights in mountain huts. In the mountain huts we normally only book dormitories, but we can look into private rooms on request. If the private rooms are fully booked or not available in the hut, we automatically book a bed in dormitories for you. Please note that private rooms are more expensive and there will be an additional charge for this.
Accommodation at the huts includes dinner and breakfast. We will arrange this for you as well. This allows you to travel lighter and have one less thing to worry about. Bear in mind that lunch is not included, but it can be purchased at the huts. Here you can also buy an array of snacks and bottled water.
You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport.
Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas etc.
Half-board is included in the price of this trek. Lunch, however, is not. You can get something to eat at the mountain huts along the way.
Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.
Personal expenses on such as souvenirs, drinks, and other similar expenses are for your own account.
