Welcome to Greve in Chianti, the heart of the Chianti region and the starting point for your week-long adventure. Greve’s historic town square, Piazza Matteotti, is surrounded by inviting cafés and wine shops, perfect for a first taste of Tuscan culture. Settle in with a glass of Chianti Classico as you soak in the village’s relaxed ambiance and prepare for the hikes ahead.

Greve – Panzano

Your journey through Chianti begins today, as you follow a path winding through hills, olive groves, and vineyards. The trail includes some gentle ascents but remains very walkable. Enjoy sweeping views over the valleys, narrow country lanes, and rustic farmhouses along the way. Panzano in Chianti is famous for its wine culture and the renowned butcher Dario Cecchini, where you can taste traditional Tuscan specialties. This picturesque village offers charming restaurants and terraces, perfect for a well-deserved break.

Panzano – Castellina

Today’s walk leads you along scenic trails and quiet country roads through the heart of the Chianti wine region. The route offers varied views of endless vineyards, hilltops, and expansive vistas. Along the way, you’ll pass some iconic vineyards producing Chianti Classico wines. Castellina in Chianti welcomes you with its narrow medieval streets and the impressive Rocca di Castellina fortress. Visit one of the local wine cellars to sample the rich, deep flavors of Chianti wines and enjoy the view from the fortress walls—a perfect end to an active day.

    We will arrange your accommodation on the Tuscany Experience in hotels, inns, and guesthouses. Accommodation will be private in single, double or twin rooms and with en-suite bathroom where possible.

  • Full travel guide

    We will send you on your way with a digital travel guide which includes a route description, interactive Tuscany Experience hiking maps, and the most important information applicable to your trek.

  • Baggage Transfer

    This trek includes the transfer of your luggage throughout the entire Tuscany Experience trek. Your bags will be picked up every morning from the hotel lobby and will be driven to your next next accommodation. Baggage transfers allow you to travel lighter during the day and enjoy the walk in a more relaxed manner.

  • Breakfast

    Breakfast is, if possible, included in this trek and it will be provided every morning at your accommodation.

  • Traveling to and from

    You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport. This also applies to any transport from the end point of your trail.

  • Transfers

    Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas etc.

  • Travel Insurance

    Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.

  • Lunch and Dinner

    Breakfast is, if possible, included in the price of the trek. You can get lunch and dinner at the shops, hotels, and restaurants along the way.
