Alta Via 1

We did 4 days on the Alta Via 1 and it was absolutely incredible. Each day was challenging but breathtaking. We met some lovely groups of people doing the same route and it was nice to have dinner and a drink together each evening. Having the route and refugios booked made it super stress free so all you had to do was hike and enjoy it. The only points to note would be that some areas of the route are pretty sketchy with steep loose-rock narrow paths right on the edge of cliffs which didn’t bother us but was a bit of a surprise. On the final day the descent is savage, 4km longer than advised and the option to take cable cars isn’t always available if you’re at the end of the season like we were (and on a Sunday). Overall loved it and would 100% recommend.

We have just returned from our Alta Via1 trek arranged by Bookatrekking. This was our second trek done with Bookatrekking and again they exceeded our expectations. From the start of the booking up to the day we completed the trek the support from the team was first class. We had a small logistics issue at our accomodation in Belluno but this was sorted out within ten minutes by the efficient support staff at Bookatrekking. The experience in the Dolomites was exceptional and I will recommend the trek to anybody looking for a superb mountain experience. Bookatrekking takes away all the frustrations of booking Rifugios and working out routes. We will certainly be using Bookatrekking for our next hike.

We had a fabulous time doing the short Alta via 1. You made the booking process very easy, the mountain Refugio’s were beyond our expectations in terms of comfort and quality and quantity of food! The hiking was steep and hard but the views around every corner made it worth while. We were very lucky with exceptional weather, the Dolomites did not disappoint!

We had an amazing experience hiking the Alta Via 1 with Bookatrekking. The trek was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve done, and we loved it. My main suggestion is to make optional stops and detours clearer in the itinerary and downloadable map tracks. We would have appreciated knowing where we could visit other rifugios, explore the WWI tunnels, or take the side trip to the viewpoint near Rifugio Tissi, along with how much extra time each option would add. That would have helped us plan our days and decide what we had time to see. I also felt the trip could have been a little less expensive. Overall, though, it was an incredible experience, and I’m so glad we did it.

This was my first hut to hut hike. I'm 59 and was a little bit nervous about doing this as a solo hiker, but im so glad I did. Loved every minute of it. These guys really know how to look after you by arranging everything for you and explaining everything. They are excellent at communicating answering any queries which is very reassuring if you are a 1st timer like me. I highly recommend this company. Looking forward to my next trip.

The trip to Italy hiking Alta Via 1 went well! Booking through Bookatrekking made it easy. We loved the hotels they picked and didn’t have to worry about booking our Refugio’s which is usually very difficult. Having the navigation app throughout the trek was very helpful! I would definitely use this company again.

Hike was beautiful and the hut stay was great! The offline navigation system helped so much. I would say the hike was harder than expected though.

Our 7-day trek through the Dolomites was incredible—unforgettable scenery, fantastic routing, and smooth logistics right up until the very end. Unfortunately, they fumbled at the finish line. Mid-hike, we were told our last mountain hut had been changed. When we checked at the original hut, the staff showed us the error: despite us booking over a year in advance, the agency had reserved space for just 1 person instead of our group of 9. This mistake forced us to needlessly backtrack 3 km on the trail. While the replacement hut was decent, it didn't match the standard or atmosphere of the rest of the experience. It’s a shame a trip this well-organized fell apart on the final stretch due to a basic head-count error. Double-check your hut confirmations directly before setting off.

Several people got off trail due to lack of markings on the landslide section prior to reaching the last Refugio. It would have also been helpful to have the routes numbers to follow along and to view on a map we bought as back up prior to our trip (I.e. follow 445 to 545, etc) We were pleasantly surprised to learn that 2 of our “dormitory” rooms were actually the 4 of us again with only one night having a 5th person. Those details would have been appreciated beforehand. As well as knowing where we might have wanted to perhaps take advantage of a ski lift on day 1 which was extreme climbing. Great trip overall though.

We have a fantastic time on the 7 days hike in dolomites. Sometimes, the navigation was frozen and needed to be installed again and made it a bit difficult when there was no wifi available. Luckily, we always meet a group of people who did the same route with us under Bookatrekking. Other than that, it was a very good experience that we are able to complete the hike safely.

App was great, comms were easy

A fantastic app with really good maps. Great customer service and a helpful tool for planning a trip. There is a bit of missing information regarding some of the stages—details that would have been important to include—especially considering some brutal descents that really ought to be highlighted in the stage descriptions ;p

I had tried to vain to book the Rifugios Alta Via 1 myself some years back but it was proving impossible and stressful. Bookatrekking handled all that for me, lifting the stress of the planning and locking in the best Rifugios along the trip - and all for a fair price. Alta Via 1 trail is the most beautiful hike I’ve done and I’ve been all over the world. Best part was the challenge and intensity, wasn’t just a walk in a park. Refugio’s were better than expected and it was great meeting new friends along the way. Would do it all over again

We enjoy this multiple days hiking from the beginning. We couldn’t hike the whole 4 days due to the bad weather but it’s still a life time experience. But Maybe one tip or suggestion we could share that we also heard from some other participants that in case of bad weather, maybe we could get some help with for example some transfer service to get to the next destination/hut. But other than this, we really happy to have booked this adventure with this company. And by the way, I’m already looking for another huttentoch for next summer (TMB).

Reliable agency

Slightly too long the daily treks for us (we did the three-nights four-days Short AV1). Would also suggest staying in Toblach instead of Cortina before the hike. Otherwise perfect.

we were able to do the AV1 backpacking wihotu any hassel with all the refugios booked by Bookatrekking. The email notifications and information provided was very useful. They recommended making the bus reservation which was a great tip!

Every stage of our trip went off without a hitch. Good contact information for huts when we were running late; useful packing tips; good navigation directions. Our only complaint is that our final day was far too ambitious for our level, but we opted for a shorter route which was just right.

Easy to book through the website, great email updates and info. The app was very easy to use, particularly the offline navigation while hiking. All the refugios were exactly as described. In general the sleeping quarters, showers, and food were all quite good. We did have 2 nights when we were placed in large bunk rooms, which bothered some people, but it was clearly laid out in the information from Bookatrekking so it did not take us by surprise, and worked out just fine!

Can really recommend using Bookatrekking - we did the 4 day dolomites hut to hut and it was seamless. The hut bookings were great, the gps in the app with all the directions worked really well (there was only one bit that required hopping through a river to get to the track!), and they guided us through what to take and what the dos and donts were on the trek. The live weather in the app was also great. Would definitely use them again for another hiking trip. It took all the hassle out of organising so we could just enjoy the adventure. One thing to note is that each day said it was 12-15km but it ended up being an extra 2-3km each day according to our watches, so just factor that into your timing. We were slower than expected, but still loved it all!

The entire hike was super smooth. Book a trekking, the app especially is very good. Clean layout, clear instructions, packing list, offline mode etc - all gave me immense peace of mind as it was my first multi day hike. We came back with beautiful memories and new friends!! If you're busy or just don't want the hassle of attempting to book your own accommodations then this is perfect. The navigation feature on the app was critical as the Alta Via 1 is not the easiest trail to follow. If you're an extremely fast hiker then I would recommend doing it in fewer days, unless you reallyyy want to lounge at a rifugio for hours before dinner :-)

Very well organised all went to plan

From beginning to the end of our fantastic trip to walk the Alta Via 1 Bookatrekking were there when we needed them. All our accommodation was booked and the app was excellent. I didn’t feel as though I was paying over the odds. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

I appreciated the simplicity of just showing up and knowing my room was ready for me without all the trouble of trying to book accommodations myself. The app made it easy to find my way along the trail and know what to expect next. While the hiking time was mostly right to my hiking, the mileage seemed to be off most every time by a couple of miles at least no matter the app/device others used to track. It was also notes that a level hike into the Rifugio was to be expected yet I found it almost always to be a little climb which was discouraging. I also noticed that the trail to follow was sometimes the road, sometimes a short cut trail and sometimes by a Rifugio that I could never understand. That being said I could always tell when I was off trail

Everything went off without a hitch. The itinerary and map was easy to follow. Not sure how they measure the distance though, we tracked 2-4+ miles more per day than the itinerary stated, but other than that really amazing way to do the Alta Via 1 without having to spend hours plannig the itinerary and finding/booking huts. I'd def use Bookatrekking again.

Overall we had such a great trip. We loved Refugio scotoni and Refugio Scoiatolli. Refugio Pederu was fine as well but not our favorite. We wish that the Refugio’s knew ahead of time that we were a group of four traveling together because at two of them they didn’t know until we got there and they had to rearrange the rooms so we could be together rather than mixed with the other Bookatrekking travelers. The map feature on the app also was not great - I wish it had more distance and elevation info in the app and info about what Refugio’s we could stop at along the way.

Our adventure was seamless because bookatrekking lined everything up for us. The app was amazing. There was nothing to worry about beyond the physical hiking. All the logistics of accomodations were taken care of, checking in each day at the rifugios was easy. Each one took good care of us and fed us well!

Excellent trail navigation. Stunning scenery. Most Refugio’s offered excellent meals, showers and sleeping accommodations. Most other hikers were respectful of other hikers both on the trail and off.

For the most part using the app to find our place on the trail was amazingly accurate and very helpful we really appreciated the help. The selection of Refugios was interesting as some days were really difficult like the first day was brutal and added to the amount of uphill was a rain storm with lightning that really got us worried that the whole experience was going to be like that. We were not aware that whoever built these trails was not aware that switchbacks are a great way to lessen the assent on some really steep ascents. While most days the trails were manageable based on our experience level there were places where we wondered how some trails were considered acceptable. Overall we did experience the Dolomites in all of their grander and were in total awe of their bueauty and just how well the area is preserved in it natural state, it was an amazing experience and while it taxed us physically and left us stronger for having done it.

I did half of the Alta Via 1 trek. It was my first time trekking, and I did it solo. Bookatrekking made everything so easy. Their app has a packing checklist, an offline map, and general info about the Dolomites. The huts they booked for me were also well-equipped. I even made friends with other people who booked the same route through Bookatrekking. I'll definitely book another trekking trip with them again.

Great trail lovely huts, pretty easy booking process, but obviously a bit of a mark up compared with booking it myself, I guess that's the cost of convenience. Your app should have graphs with standard axis so you can actually count how much ascent you have done rather than guess and calculate. Similar for the miles so you can see that the longer days are longer. Also it wasn't made clear whether tourist tax was already paid or not so at one hut we paid this but I don't think we did at the others.

This was my first time in the Dolomites so I didn't have much to compare to and everything was easy despite a bit of a learning curve. The instructions were clear but the execution was choppy. A more efficient way of getting from Cortina to Lago Braies would have been great as it was a bit stressful to navigate the crowds with the public transportation. A plan B would have been required had we missed the one morning bus that day

This was the best thing I’ve ever done and I’m so happy I booked through book a trekking. I don’t know how I’d be able to coordinate it all myself so the service book a trekking provide is so well worth it. Even just the navigation tools alone was amazing. Alta via 1 is to die for. It was the most beautiful location I don’t know how anything can compare. Must be physically and mentally ready for the trip but is so worth it. I would flag is that the descriptions make it seem much easier than it really is. This is was the most physically and mentally challenging this I’ve ever done. And I’d also suggest more specifics on weight for packing would have been helpful and realistic elevation map as some were a sad surprise. But that’s just me being picky. All services associated were absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to book my next.

The navigation app is very helpful. It can be even better if it can warn upon loosing your trail.

For a 73-year old and first-timer of trekking in the Dolomites, AV1 was quite challenging and physically stressful sometimes. Bookatrekking’s packing list and navigation tool are both very helpful and useful, thereby mitigating the level of mental stress. I got lost twice: once in the Lagazuoi Tunnel, the other time on the way up to Forcella di Zita Sud. The navigation tool was of little use when I tried to find my way back. That it was possible to get lost in the Tunnel should be highlighted in the itinerary description. Also, some suggestions on how best to get back the the marked route once lost would be great.

Bookatrekking handled the booking of the mountain huts for us and was very communicative during the whole process. They updated us on the progress and pointed out the possible issues we may encounter, i.e. huts that opened late in the year. The accompanying app which had the navigation and elevation profile for each hike was a lifesaver.

Overall we had a great time hiking Via Alta 1 (4 days), and was made stress free with all the bookings being sorted and the useful app with we relied on for navigation. The views were stunning. Enjoyed staying at the rifugios, although rifugio lagazuoi was frosty and charged us city tax which I was not expecting. Definitely bring ear plugs and sandals! My only criticism would be the difficulty- we both are experienced hikers and marathon runners but we struggled with the first 2 days- 34km total with 2700 meters of elevation (and a good chunk down too). This meant we didn’t get as much time to sit and enjoy the environment rather race to get there for 6pm and crash after dinner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trek. All of the Rifugio arrangements were fantastic, and the navigation portion of your app kept us on track and getting everywhere we needed to go. The mountains were spectacular and best of all the people (many of whom also used bookatrekking.com) we met along the way were so enjoyable and make the entire experience that much better. We always know that anyone who is a hiker/trekker must be good solid people, but to experience that with all the international flavor of the people was a special and new experience for us. Thank you very much for all you did to ensure our trek was the best it could be.

The AV1 South was an amazing experience with dramatic scenery, and interesting encounters with people on the trail and at the rifugios from all over the world who were attempting the same physical challenge. The trail is marked with both the red and white blazes and trail numbers. The blazes are sometimes hard to follow across some areas as they are faint or far apart. The provided GPS worked very well, but also being familiar with the trail numbers beforehand would be a definite advantage.

Easy booking process, trickier for harder groups - accommodation level varies wildly.

The Bookatrekking app was so helpful and imformative from the time our booking was confirmed through to completion of our trek. Great guidance of what to expect, tips & videos, planning, accommodation choices and live navigation app during the trek (especially reassuring as some trail signage was a bit confusing).

Beautiful trails, great huts

It was a wonderful trip, the adventure of my life. Wandering along the mountain trails of the Dolomites at every bend you discover a new view that takes away speech. Trekking in this place is a constant delight and a sense of freedom. Here the man really feels that he is alive! The organization was very good, there were no problems with accommodation and food.

Communication as timely and relevant. Maps were good.

Booking the trek was very easy, and since it was late in the summer this was the only way to get places in the rifugios. Communication with bookatrekking was great - I talked with one of their people online before going, and also communicated with them on Whatsapp during the trek itself. The app works well and provided necessary information before and during the hike. The only issue we had was that it wasn't possible to change the course length for each day since the rifugios were pre-booked. The second day was extremely hard, and we decided to just skip it and take the bus to the next rifugio. If I had more flexibility I would have chosen to split it up to two days.

They were on top of everything and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. Everything was given to us at the time that we needed the information. From booking our Rifugios to having our online maps.

Book a trekking was great! Handled all the logistics for us so we just had to show up. The Refugio’s they booked were very nice as well. Being able to use the app to navigate was helpful, it shows all the trails so you can go the suggested route or “choose your own adventure.” Would definitely use again!

It was great not having to worry about the logistics of navigating and booking rifugios. When I had a concern about one day being too long, we made adjustments prior to departure and they eased our concerns. Bookatrekking was very responsive! We had one hiccup with a rifugio not having our reservation on file, but because of their reputation/relationship, we were taken care of within moments.

Knowing what to expect, having accommodation and itinerary arranged, reasonable cost, good communication when required prior to our trip, great app and navigation tool. We would like to comment that some of the track markers were faded and a bit confusing even looking at a paper map. Without your navigation tool, we would struggle at times. The track numbers when shown were hard to match to map at times.

The accommodation before and after the trek was superb. The refugios were amazing. The app was really helpful and I downloaded Komoot to import the gpx files for easy navigation. It made the whole experience really easy. Well priced for amazing adventures.

Nice to do the hike without organising the huts and tracks

They took a lot of the research, guesswork, and stress out of planning our trek in the dolomites. The guide they sent us was also incredibly helpful. You could book it all yourself if you are so inclined but contacting many of the huts is a little difficult, so this is by far the simpler method.

Bookatrekking agents we’ve been working with are very professional. They’re very responsive and communicate with different options they worked out. They were supporting us even when we were already in the trails and very flexible to help adjust our lodging as we requested which is one of the things I really appreciated and also proves the value of using agents’ service vs booking and planning everything by ourselves. I highly recommend using their services in a heartbeat.

We hiked for 2 days before we got hit with 17” snow. The views were simply beautiful. Bookatrekking.com was always helpful. This is our 2nd hike with them. They credited us 50 euros for each day each person for the Refugio not used yet. If you have a chance to hike the Alta Via 1, don’t miss out.

Everything was perfect, expect Rifugio Staulanza. Uniformly he hikers found the owners very unfriendly. The food at Staulanza was also markedly of lower quality than the other Rifugio's.

My wife and I decided on hiking the Alta Via 1 for our honeymoon. I reached out a year in advance to begin the booking process only to be told by multiple places that they were either full or hadn't started booking yet. My wife is a planner and wanted to have our itinerary set in stone as soon as possible. With that in mind, Bookatrekking made the process of securing refugios each night totally painless. We were somewhat concerned that, being a more budget friendly option, Bookatrekking would set us up with worse facilities. That was definitely not the case! We greatly enjoyed the lodging each night. In addition, our trip wound up being cut short by a day due to a freak snowstorm and the company was responsive and accomodating in taking care of us. We were both very impressed with the quality of the service and would definitely use them again!

Overall a good job, but they did initially have us going to the wrong refugio. But after contacting them they were able to correct it.

The adventure was great. We really enjoyed staying in rifuggios. I recommend this trek to everyone but I would like to emphasize the bookatrekking team. The were extremely helpful, kind and the contact was flawless. Nonetheless you get a whole ebook about the trek, what to bring, maps, itinerary etc. Seriously worth it.

Overall everything was great but some tips to consider: hotel Cristallano charges to hold bags - we were unaware of this even after contacting to hotel directly. Their breakfast starts at 7:30am and most people will be trying to catch the 8:05 bus to lake braises. The bus stop is 1.5kms away from the hotel making this situation near impossible. We started our hike on a near empty stomach. Met other bookatrekkers who had a different hotel close to bus stop and a breakfast at 7am.

Second time using bookatrekking. My partner and I had a wonderful time during this hike. They sorted out all the itinerary and always very responsive. Highly recommended them!

I went on short hut to hut hike for 4 days to Dolomites with a help of bookatrekking. Apparently it’s very difficult to book huts in that region in a season but we have booked like only 6 months before trip and my long awaited trip has happened with a help of bookatrekking. The rifugios which bookatrekking has booked for us were nice and had many amenities. The information about hike and route provided by agency was very detailed. I would recommend this agency if you plan to go on multiple day hike to Dolomites for first time and want to avoid hassle with booking accommodation and planning route.

Perfect organized trip

The mountains were amazing to hike through and the rifugios we stayed at were lovely. The booking company was mostly good. We had a good travel packing list, gps maps for the trails, they answered questions we asked via email ahead of the hike, and tried to book us private rooms at the rifugios as we requested since we had kids who sleep early (for a reasonable extra fee). The only negative thing was the length of the last day's hike. The online itinerary for the family friendly version of the hike for day 4 shows Rifugio Lavaralla to Rifugio Scotoni. However, we were booked as going from Rifugio Lavaralla to Rifugio Lagazoui but it wasn't explained to us that this was going to be a longer day than the standard family friendly hike (although we were told the hut names and hiking time, it wasn't drawn to our attention that this wasn't the regular family hike and we should consider if it made sense for our kids). Given this was the 4 day of hiking for our kids, we were worried about making it. After speaking with other hikers (who had booked with other companies and seemed to have much more information than us about other options if the hike got to be too much) we were able to come up with some backup plans for the day to feel comfortable attempting it. In the end the kids did manage the long day and it was a lovely hike, but with kids (or anyone, really!) when you're hiking in the mountains it's important to have all the information you need and feel properly prepared before setting out. We did not feel we had that with bookatrekking.

The trails were great, viewing amazing and all the huts were great.

We trekked part of Alta Via 1 in Dolomites, Bookatrekking made all the hut reservations, provided good instructions and GPX files to follow on individual stages. We also met several more groups that used Bookatrekking and none seemed to have any issue with them. FYI, accommodation in the huts is in dorm rooms and where exactly you get assigned depends on the hut and when you show up at the day of, so unless you book private rooms, that part is outside of what Bookatrekking can do.

Fabulous views. Great time at the rifugios. Always showers available and plug ins. Kamoot 100% reliable and easy to use for navigation. Highly recommend this trek for dramatic landscape.

The huts were in the most part good, some rooms were a little cramped for space, food was plentiful and tasty. There was one error on the booking, one Refugio did not have space for 5 of our 13 person group, so we had to hike 3km more to find one that did.

Very clean, well organized, friendly staff. We will be back.

We had an AMAZING time on the Alta Via 1 in the Italian Dolomites. Booking with Bookatrekking made our experience seem so easy, as we did not have to deal with the hassle of booking the rifugios ourselves (group of 4 people from 4 different countries). The communication was wonderful, and the cost was reasonable for the service provided. We received a packet with all the information we would need several weeks before departure. I would definitely consider using Bookatrekking for future trips to help streamline the process and make vacation more enjoyable!

Fabulous adventure! The landscape is amazing! We were given all the information so it was easy to get to the starting point, navigate the route. The only problem was the lack of sleep in the dorms, but it’s part of the mountain experience.

The mountains were awesome, never seen something like that.

It was very convenient to have the refugios prebooked. My main suggestion for improvement would be to provide more flexibility to add a day or two more to the trek so that the daily distance could be reduced (because of the extreme amount of climbing and descent each day). Also the packing list could be customized by month to reduce weight further in the warmest part of the season (we went in mid to late July).

The trip was great. All my Refugio’s were expecting me as planned. The hikes were challenging. Be cardio ready and hit the stairmaster hard.

We have booked Alta Via 1 8 days and it was amazing. We have accomplished the entire trail and met amazing people. The guidebook was well prepared with all necessary details. The only thing I would add would me some more motivational details per day, something like “after the last ascent, there will be much flatter and easier to hike” especially for long days 🤞

We had everything that we needed for our first hut to hut trek and felt confident with the written guide and bookings that bookatrekking took care of for us. The price was reasonable and we felt like we paid for what we were wanting. We preferred a self guided trek and bookatrekking took out the guess work of making that possible!

Worth doing to enjoy magnificent views, great Rifugios and be at ease following the way. All part of the information package organized by Bookatrekking. Traveling with boys and friends, Bookatrekking makes planning easier and off-loads responsibility, while resting assured it will all work out just fine. The laking star corresponds to the last day trek (followed given Komoot way) which was below par.

Beautiful scenery and helpful staff at Bookatrekking - I was not able to secure refugio reservations until I turned to Bookatrekking. I would classify they family friendly hike as a little more difficult than advertised but in some cases that was because there was still snow on the ground. Overall - I do not know many 8 year olds that would do well on that hike

I was honestly hesitant booking through Bookatrekking - they have pretty good prices in comparison to other companies. So I expected some difficulties in quality. The tour was great, but things some things could have been better: - warning about heavy traffic in Italy in mid-August - time estimates for each day in the tour - misleading information on the availability of insurance from Komoot - lack of good vegetarian alternatives in the huts

This trip was absolutely incredible! We love the Refugios that we’re chosen for us and would. Or have changed anything about the trip if we had booked it ourselves! The trail is challenging and beautiful and we loved every section. Definitely do this trip!

The service was very smooth, always available and friendly. The set up is professional and the adjustments are quick when needed. Some points for improvement: the guide we received did not quite match the actual sections of the hike we were doing: The guide was a standard one to sections between huts we didn't stay at. It would have been better to have the guide more accurately adjusted to the actual sections (huts) we stayed at. Secondly, we were told we must bring liners to the huts but that wasn't necessary in any of the huts. Other than these small points it was all good.

The alta via 1 is an incredible adventure that is accessible to novice hikers. It was my first ever such trek and will definitely not be last. All the huts were booked with no problem. Thanks so much bookatrekking!

This is a challenging but exciting and rewarding hike with more natural beauty than anyone can handle. Sunrise on Rifugio Lagazuoi was a particular highlight! Guidance from bookatrekking was concise and helpful, and emails during the countdown to my holidays particularly welcome and useful. No hitches whatsoever with the booking; the "bookend" hotels before and after were very comfy.

I liked having all my places booked. Thank you! I wish I could have had better service in downloading the Koomot maps. I was the only one who was able to do that out of my group of four. When I asked for more help, it really wasn't given adequately. Appreciated the free drink at Aberge Mt Blanc:) Loved our treks, both Alta via and TMB. The only Refugio that was not very good was Vallercine, wished we could have been at Tissi instead. At Vallercine we were put in an old musty molding shed. All in all the trek was a fabulous experience

Bookatrekking did a super job preparing our trip, they booked everything and provided us with information and support. It would have been really challenging to book this on our own. The Komoot app worked really well & the walking distances each day were calculated well. The rifugios were usually very comfortable with a good evening meal. The breakfast wasn’t as good. The only problem we had was that the app and guide book sent us down quite a dangerous via ferrata without the necessary equipment. We were fine, but in hindsight this should have been flagged in the app/ booking with information on an alternative route or information to carry and use the correct safety gear.

Such an amazing experience! The Dolomites felt like a magical fairy land. The huts were better than expected- clean. Bookatrekking was great in advising us how to get to Venice/Cortina and the appropriate buses to take along the way. Additionally, Komoot was easy to use and worked without service. The only downfall is that Komoot was off by 2-3 miles for the total length each day. If that was fixed, it would be perfect!

Completed the 7 night/8 day Alta 1 hike. The itinerary and information that was provided was excellent and thorough. Having to try to set up all the different refugio's on my own would have been quite the hassle.

Bookatrekking did a great job reserving our space in the rifugios for a Short Alta Via 1 trip. They were responsive over email and WhatsApp. I wish they had sent us a personalized itinerary with a route and details based on our actual rifugios instead of a generic packet of information.

Bookatrekking.com is fantastic value After initially trying to construct an itinerary for an Alta Via 1 hike it proved too challenging to make all of the necessary contacts at the various refugios and get all of the dates aligned. So after researching companies that provide this booking service I chose Bookatrekking based on their reviews and their affordable pricing. The trip experience was great and their were no issues at all with the arrangements that Bookatrekking provided. I did have to contact them for a couple of questions and they always replied promptly and answered my questions. During my trip I met several other people that also used Bookatrekking and they all shared with me that they had a very positive experience with them.

The service was fast and concise. And once booked we got a wealth of information that was really helpful. Everything worked out perfectly! Definitely would recommend this service.

The trip was amazing. We enjoyed a lot the Alta Via 1. Considering the restrictions in huts avalability due to late booking, we are very happy with the result. There are a few thing that I would like to mention so perhaps can help in future trips: Huts: Most of the huts were amazing, clean, good food and pretty nice attention. There were two exceptions: Pederu (hotel) the room was super clean, but the staff and the food are certainly not something that you will remember... There was however one awful "hut" (to be honest it was a hotel near the road) that I would not recommend to anyone. Passo di Staulanza was awful, we were 14 people in a tiny room with access to only one bathroom. Obviously the hotel did not take any covid measurement. The food was terrible I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly if you are doing the Alta Via 1, there are way better places than this. Booking experience: Bookatrekking stuff was avaliable to our questions so I would recommend them to anyone that wants to make this trip and does not have time to book it themselves.

Fantastische vijfdaagse wandelvakantie in de Domomieten via Bookatrekking! De app en de navigatie werken perfect. Enorm genoten van de prachtige natuur, de bergen en de gezellige internationale wandelaars onderweg en in de hutten.

Als alles rondom je wandeling goed is geregeld, kun je optimaal genieten van je reis. Bookatrekking heeft dit perfect gedaan!

Vuestro trabajo fue realmente bueno. Los refugios estaban bien salvo Staulanza donde nos alojaron en una habitación común en la que estábamos amontonados, sin condiciones salobres adecuadas. En Col Gallina subir a las literas superiores era una aventura por la falta de escalera, lo demás de ese refugio fue bien.

De Alta Via 1, neemt je mee langs ongelooflijke uitzichten, mooie toppen, uitdagende paden. We hadden ons veel voorgesteld van dit avontuur. De realiteit overtrof de verwachtingen.

Avons réservé notre voyage dans les Dolomites en décembre pour un trek fin août. Un peu long avant d’avoir la réponse finale. Malgré les 9 mois d’avance, n’avons pu avoir 2 refuges sur 7. Avons apprécié les informations de Bookatrekking et les rappels. L’application mobile est utile mais manque de détails/ informations tels altitude en temps réel, temps estimé résiduel, refuges ou restos sur le parcours pas toujours mentionnés, nom des montagnes…

De korte Alte via 1 is een hele fraaie hiking tocht, unieke uitzichten en panorama's in de Dolemieten. We hebben hem met onze dochters van 14 en 17 gelopen en dat was pittig, maar net te doen. Wandelstokken aan te bevelen

Fantastische tocht gemaakt. Alles was top geregeld en de app is ook e g prettig. We zouden zo weer een keer gaan met B.a.T. :)

De omgeving is onbeschrijfelijk. Prachtige, maar wel pittige hikes. Het zijn heel weinig aangelegde paden, maar veel loszittende stenen/rotsen met hier en daar wat klimmen. Houd daar rekening mee. Wij zijn vrij fit, maar hadden dit wel onderschat.

Een fantastisch avontuur in een overweldigende omgeving. Goed om te weten dat het geen gewone wandeling is, maar een zware hike met kilometerslange klims en afdalingen over rotsblokken, etc. Je moet echt sportief en in hele goede conditie zijn.

Geweldige organisatie, absoluut geen kritiek!!

Wir hatten eine tolle Auszeit in den Dolomiten. Die GPS Karten haben die Wanderung sehr erleichtert. Lediglich einmal wurden wir in ein Rifugio als Ziel navigiert, indem wir jedoch keine Übernachtung hatten, sodass wir wieder zurück mussten.

Prachtige hike Enkel laatste dag viel wat tegen qua uitzichten. Aanrader!

Het was voor ons de eerste keer. Alles speelde mee, het weer , de accomodaties, het eten, Ontmoeting met andere hikers. Amerikanen, Canadezen, Chinezen, Duitsers etc. Maar vooral de zonsondergang en zonsopkomst!!!

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Buchung. Es hat alles genauso funktioniert, wie ich es mir vorgestellt habe. Es gab eine kleine Verwechslung bei einer Hütte und Bookstrekking Hat mir sofort geholfen und ich konnte entspannt einchecken. Auch die Wanderung selbst war einfach traumhaft und wie beschrieben. Manch andere Wanderer hatten allerdings ein wenig Probleme mit den vielen Höhenmetern und haben die Wanderung etwas unterschätzt.

We werden vooraf goed op de hoogte gehouden van bijzonderheden tijdens de trekking maar ook op hulpvragen werd snel gereageerd.

Super organisiert, alles sehr unkompliziert! Kleiner Punktabzug, da uns zunächst eine falsche Tour zugesendet worden ist. Kundendienst war aber direkt erreichbar und hat uns sehr schnell die richtige Route zugesendet, alles alles gut. Wir werden nicht das letzte mal über Bookatrekking verreist sein!

Wir haben die Buchung der Tour zu keiner Zeit bereut! Bereits lange vor Reisebeginn wurden wir mit vielen hilfreichen Informationen versorgt und bei der Planung bestens unterstützt. Buchung war gut, die Routen waren aber nicht immer ideal

De tocht was super! Paar opmerkingen: - het zou helpen als jullie tips zouden geven over hoe bij het beginpunt geraken. Bv: er is een gratis parking bij Acquabona om je auto te zetten mét gratis shuttle service naar Cortina, de openingsuren van de kabelbaan,.. - de laatste twee etappes waren veel te kort! Deze kunnen ofwel perfect samen genomen worden ofwel langer gemaakt worden - eindpunt: meer informatie geven + de websites van bussen die in de informatiebrochure staan, werken niet allemaal

Leuke huttentocht geboekt, mooie plekken, fijne instructies en goed contact.

Heldere voorbereidende materiaal, prachtige refugios. We gaan vaker gebruik maken van bookatrekkking.

Percursos escolhidos muito longos e difíceis, a média de 15km dia é muito alta e desgastante

Alles was top geregeld. Van de voorbereiding t/m de uitwerking van de gpx-files. Van de support t/m de gekozen Rifugios. Ondanks dat ik normaal ook graag alles zelf plan en organiseer, ga ik zeker weten weer gebruik maken van Bookatrekking.com! De beschikbaarheid van de hutten is (zeker voor zo'n tocht als AV1) was ineens appeltje eitje.

Buchung der Reise und online Kontakt verliefen gut und problemlos. Die Touren / Routen waren durch komoot gut beschrieben. In den gebuchten Refugios gingen die Anmeldungen schnell und problemlos vonstatten. Allerdings stimmten die Gehzeiten von komoot nicht immer mit der tatsächlichen Gehzeit überein. Es gab insgesamt zwei Tagesetappen, in denen ich den Weg selbst etwas anders gewählt hätte, da ist es sicher sinnvoll, als Unternehmen selbst mal vor Ort zu schauen. So hatten wir z.B einmal schwierige Kraxelei, Mit schwerem Trekkingrucksack durchaus mal gefährlich. Wäre mit Tagesrucksack sicher kein Problem gewesen. Aber alles in allem war es eine gut geplante Strecke, in der die Landschaft , Berge und Eindrücke wirklich toll waren. Ich würde tatsächlich wieder über bookatrekking buchen, allerdings vielleicht, falls machbar, mit Gepäcktransport

Ook al hebben we na dag 1 onze huttentocht moeten afbreken wegens een val (met enkelbreuk tot gevolg), toch was het een positieve ervaring: duidelijke informatie ontvangen van de organisatie. De wandeltocht was ook zeer mooi.

Prachtige, uitdagende wandelingen met hele mooie slaapplaatsen. Er was na elke bocht van de wandeling een volledig ander landschap. ADEMBENEMEND!

Erg fijn om de praktische organisatie van onze Alta Via 1 uit te kunnen besteden aan Bookatrekking. We zijn goed geholpen tijdens het gehele proces en hebben ons nergens druk om hoeven te maken. Ondanks dat we een erg gewilde/populaire tour hebben gemaakt, is het Bookatrekking gelukt om onze de hutten te boeken en de route aan te passen aan de beschikbaarheid.

We hebben in juli een alternatieve versie van de 4-daagse Alta Via 1 gevolgd, aangeboden door Book A Trekking. Dit was nodig gezien een aantal berghutten reeds volzet waren toen we boekten in januari. De trekking was fantastisch voor zowel ons als meer ervaren trekkers, als onze drie tienerkinderen die dit voor de eerste maal deden. De Dolomieten zijn divers met mooie vergezichten, dramatische bergpieken en liefdelijke alpenweides. Het lekkere Italiaanse en Süd Tiroolse eten in de refugios was de kers op de taart! De lengte van elke tocht was perfect behalve voor de eerste dag: die was veel te lang na een lange autorit. We hebben de eerste dag daarom ingekort tot 11km door een combinatie van 3 kabelbanen te nemen vanuit Cortina. Hierdoor hebben we ook het minder interessante deel aan skipistes overgeslagen. We hebben dit via hulp van een locale expert die actief was op Komoot, uitgewerkt. De experts bij Book A Trekking zijn doorheen heel het proces heel behulpzaam geweest en leverden een uitstekende service. De meegeleverde reisplan was informatief meer kon meer uitgewerkt zijn naar informatie over bezienswaardigheden en geografie of typische flora en fauna te zien tijdens de trektocht, al is dat een detail. Zeker een aanrader!

Super mooie en goedgeregelde tocht, hutten waren super mooi en schoon en kregen goed te eten.

Was een super toch en goed geregeld. Ben net een week terug en wil eigenlijk wel meteen door. Wel een tip om genoeg blaren verzorg spullen mee te nemen😅

Alles prima geregeld alleen de info over de dagtrails mn afstand, stijg/daalmeters klopte hier en daar niet. Maar zeker een aanrader.

Het gehele verblijf was goed georganiseerd! De hutten waren netjes, lekker eten en een fijne plek om even bij te komen. De tocht omvatte ook alles: van stenen gebergten tot mooie groene natuur. De verkorte Alta Via 1 is zeker de moeite waard! Voor een beginner wel uitdagend om de route binnen de beoogde tijd te wandelen.

We ontvingen geen updates tijdens onze huttentocht via WhatsApp. Een ander Nederlands stel geboekt via bookatrekking.nl ontving een email over een alternatieve route voor de laatste dag van de korte Alta Via 1 die we niet kregen. De korte Alta Via 1 vereiste soms het oversteken van secties met sneeuw. Het zou handig zijn om dit ook aan te geven in de gids. Verder een fantastische huttentocht gehad en tevreden.

Alles was tot in de puntjes geregeld . De communicatie is geweldig, de mails met informatie over de tocht hele vriendelijke mensen die je te woord staan voor al je vragen. In een woord -GEWELDIG-

Dit is de tweede keer dat ik bij bookatrekking heb geboekt, en ik ben wederom weer zeer tevreden! Afgelopen zomer heb ik de Alta Via 1 gelopen. Helaas was de vriendin met wie ik deze liep na de eerste dag al uitgevallen wegens een blessure. Dit is keurig opgepakt door bookatrekking; zowel qua verzekeringswerk als het bellen naar hutten dat ik solo verder ging werd goed afgehandeld. Vervolgens heb ik de twee na laatste dag nog een keer contact gehad, want de laatste dag werd code rood qua regen voorspelt in het berggebied. Bookatrekking reageerde gelukkig redelijk snel via whatsapp (noodnummer), en dacht mee met hoe verder te gaan. Uiteindelijk samen met een aantal andere hikers besloten om een dag eerder af te dalen in verband met de veiligheid. Dit werd goed opgepakt en de laatste rifugio werd afgebeld. Alles bij elkaar was het een heel avontuur, maar ik heb wel een super leuke tijd gehad ondanks dat ik gedwongen werd om de laatste dag over te slaan. Het is gewoon een ontzettend mooi gebied om in te wandelen, en hoewel je conditie af en toe op de proef wordt gesteld zijn de uitzichten het zeker waard! Bookatrekking is echt een heel fijn bedrijf met goede communicatie, en neemt een hoop stress weg door het (om)boeken van de hutten opzich te nemen. Het is een bedrijf waar je op kunt rekenen, ik denk dat ik in de toekomst nog wel vaker hier mijn wandeltochten zal boeken!

In samenwerking is een hele mooi route van de Alta Via 1 gepland. De dagafstanden en hutten zijn aangepast naar onze wensen. Communicatie was prima. We hebben een top vakantie gehad

Zeer mooie wandeling, vooral eerste 2 dagen perfect uitgestippeld. Mij leek het dat afhankelijk waar we de 2e nacht sliepen de laatste 2 dagen plots een heel stuk korter waren of we moesten de wandeling helemaal zelf samenstellen indien we meer dan 7km wouden wandelen. Wat natuurlijk geen probleem is.

Onze eerste huttentocht, begindeel van de Alta Via 1 in de Dolomieten, prachtige ervaring! Schitterend gebied. Etappe van Pederu naar Lagazuoi was erg zwaar, goed dat we geoefend hadden.

De hutten waren goed geboekt. Communicatie met het bedrijf gaat makkelijk. Let wel op: de etappes zijn soms lang. Dat hebben wij onderschat en vonden we onvoldoende duidelijk aangegeven.

Ik heb mijn eerste solo-reis gemaakt met 18 jaar. Ik heb de Alta Via 1 gelopen. Een geweldige tocht. Overal waar je kijkt, op elk moment van de route, je hebt overal een geweldig uitzicht. Van diepe valleien tot torenhoge bergwanden. Elke rifugio was goed geregeld. Het eten is goed en de bedden zijn ook prima! Voor het boeken van de reis zaten een aantal berghutten al vol. Bookatrekking hield mij hiervan op de hoogte. Ze hebben in goed overleg, samen met mij andere berghutten uitgezocht zodat alles toch door kon gaan! Helaas heb ik de hike niet af kunnen maken door het noodweer in Noord-Italië. Ik besloot Bookatrekking een appje te sturen hoe ik verder moest. Er werd binnen het uur al gereageerd, met dat het geen goed idee was om mijn avontuur af te maken. Ze gaven via Komoot een alternatieve route om toch naar beneden te komen. Ondanks dat dit heel erg jammer was, was dit achteraf wel heel verstandig. Kortom, een tocht om nooit te vergeten!! Volgende tocht zeker nog een keer met Bookatrekking!

Onze reis naar de Dolomieten was prachtig. Allereerst hadden we ontzettend geluk met het weer. 7 dagen strak blauwe lucht waardoor we ontzettend ver konden kijken en alle toppen konden zien. Wij hadden deze tocht gekozen omdat we beginnende wandelaars zijn. We vonden het allebei goed te doen. Sommige berghutten zijn ook met een stoeltjeslift of gondel te bereiken. Dat maakte het op sommige stukken wel erg druk met dagjesmensen, honden en kinderen. Ook zaten de bussen naar het beginpunt Lago di Braies bomvol. De stoeltjesliften stoppen wel om 17.00uur en dan keert de rust weer terug. Bookatrekking heeft ons ontzettend goed geholpen. Allereerst het gemak van het boeken van opeenvolgende hutten. We hebben het eerst zelf geprobeerd om hutten te bellen & mailen maar daar waren we een hele dag mee bezig en lukte niet, omdat we vrij laat in het seizoen waren. Ook hebben we nog een keer met bookatrekking gevideobeld omdat we wat vragen hadden. Al onze vragen werden beantwoord en bovendien is het personeel super aardig. Als laatste konden we Bookatrekking ook nog via een Noodnummer bereiken via Whatsapp omdat we wilden sparren over een alternatieve route vanwege onweer in de middag. Kortom. Wij zijn SUPER blij!

Juli 2023 Gezin 5 personen ( kinderen 14,12 en 8) Vooraf snelle en goede reacties op mail Lokaties waren goed geregeld Hele mooie wandeltochten! We deden voor het eerst een hutttentocht. We wisten niet zo goed wat te verwachten. Dat is ook deel van het avontuur natuurlijk. We hadden iets meer informatie over de verschillende refugio’s wel prettig gevonden (bij 1 refugio waren bijvoorbeeld geen douches)

Wandeling was fantastisch Wel uitdagend en dat moet niet te lichtzinnig over worden gedaan. Sliepen in Pederu, col gallina en scoiatolli. De eerste was echt heel netjes, schoon en keurig geregeld. Wel jammer dat het avondeten niet inclusief was. Tweede was basic. Schoon maar nodig aan een opknapbeurt. Erg vervelend dat het onder aan de berg was en dat je na een hele lange dag nog 2 uur extra afdaling of een dure kabelbaan moest nemen. Kabelbaan sloot om 17:00. Dit is belangrijke informatie wat Bookatrekking niet liet weten. Derde locatie was echt helemaal top. Wat een ervaring. Bookatrekking was goed voor het boeken. Verder relatief weinig aan gehad. Men zou actiever kunnen begeleiden, om de dagen nog beter in te kunnen delen

Bookatrekking heeft de accommodaties voor onze huttentocht prima geregeld. Voorafgaand aan de reis regelmatig emails met adviezen over bijvoorbeeld paklijst, aanreisroute, busverbindingen. Voldoende info om op reis te gaan inclusief routes op Komoot. Enige advies wat ik graag tevoren had gekregen was om bepaald stukje afdaling langs kabels en trapje gezekerd te doen. We zagen meerdere mensen die dit wel deden, was veiliger geweest. Zou fijn zijn om hierover vooraf info/aanbeveling te krijgen en dan kun je zelf een keuze maken

Indrukwekkende reis! Was voor ons de eerste keer. Fantastische uitzichten en prima, schone overnachtingsfaciliteiten in de rifugio’s. Met gemiddeld 7 uur wandelen per dag (voor ons) was het soms best pittig, dus wandelfitheid is belangrijk. De routes waren soms wat puzzelen omdat de secties van de Alta via 1 en onze eigen route wat afweken (afhankelijk van welke rifugio’s gereserveerd waren) maar met de Komoot app en kaart kwamen we er wel uit. Af en toe spannende momenten gehad met onweer en steile afgronden maar dat maakt het een complete en onvergetelijke ervaring. Verder leuke mensen ontmoet in de rifugio’s. Zeker aan te bevelen en voor ons voor herhaling vatbaar.

Guter Kontakt. Schnelles Reagieren. Die beim Dolomiten Höhenweg 1 als lang befürchtete Tagestouren entpuppten sich als machbar.

Fantastische huttentocht met de meest prachtige uitzichten! De organisatie van Bookatrekking maakt het eenvoudig om een eerste huttentocht voor te bereiden.

Super mooie hike! De uitzichten die je krijgt tijdens deze 4 dagen zijn formidabel. Wij zouden de hike van harte aanbevelen. Wel moet je in een goede conditie zijn, want de tweede dag is erg zwaar. Het enige minpunt is dat je zelf actief nog achter de route aanmoet, dit krijg je niet duidelijk aangeleverd.

Het was een geweldige ervaring. Goede informatie vooraf en in de hutten ook alles prima geregeld. Ook fijn dat er een filmpje over de route van tevoren bekeken kon worden. Ook de paklijst was nuttig.

Wij hebben de korte versie van de Alta Via 1 geboekt. We waren al een week eerder in de Dolomieten, de fantastische Dolomieten. In de omgeving van Cortina was het heel druk. Alle campings zaten vol, we hebben er 7 geprobeerd, allemaal vol!! Dus reserveren is aan te raden. Twee dagen voor de start van onze tocht zagen we dat het weer zou gaan omslaan. Wij waren met de auto en dat was in eerste instantie een probleem, waar laat ik hem als alle campings vol zitten, maar dat bleek later een geluk. Op woensdag namen we het besluit om de eerste etappe niet te lopen ivm lelijk weer. (Regen, onweer en ook hagel en harde wind) we zijn naar de eerste hut gereden, Pederu. Daar konden we aan de hut parkeren en overnachten. De tweede dag zijn we naar De lift naar Lagazuoi gereden. Daar mag je de auto betaald 10 dagen parkeren. Lift gepakt naar de tweede hut, het weer was beter dan voorspeld, zo gaat dat In de bergen! Daar hebben we de hele dag gewandeld en heerlijk gegeten en geslapen. Vanaf Lagazuoi zijn we de volgende dag naar Averau gewandeld. Het was er prachtig en ook hier was alles top geregeld. Mooie kamer, lekker eten, heel sfeervol en met een machtig uitzicht. Na het ontbijt zijn we naar Nuvolau gelopen en vandaar hebben we de afdaling ingezet omdat onze tocht vandaag zou eindigen. In het dal aangekomen zijn we naar de auto gelopen die we vrijdag bij de lift geparkeerd hadden, er rijden ook bussen, maar wij lopen graag. Kosten voor het parkeren waren 35 euro. Zo hebben we onze tocht een beetje moeten aanpassen, maar we hebben genoten van de Alta via 1. Goed geregeld. Prachtige tocht, prima berghutten met steeds aparte slaapzaal voor ons gezin van 5. Een iets betere indeling van de etappes zou het perfect hebben gemaakt. De ene dag 11 km en de andere dag 21 km was niet ideaal. Maar hoe dan ook prachtig en voor herhaling vatbaar, ook via Bookatrekking.

Boeking ervaring is zeer goed. Ik kreeg super snel een bevestiging met een zeer uitgebreide reisgids voor mijn reis waar letterlijk alles ik te vinden is. Hierdoor kan je goede voorbereidingen treffen en al helemaal zin maken in aankomende reis! Kan letterlijk niet wachten tot het zomer is en ik de eerste stappen kan doen. Wordt helemaal top.

Bookatrekking hat uns die Alta Via 1 Tour für 10 Tage sehr schnell und kompetent zusammengestellt. Wir haben anfänglich selbst versucht die Rifugios zu buchen, was uns aber schnell zu mühsam wurde, da die Route dauernd geändert werden muss, wenn ein Rifugio kein Platz mehr hat. Deswegen haben wir uns Bookatrekking geleistet. Sie waren per email und telefonisch sehr schnell zu erreichen, sogar auf Whatsapp wurde uns sofort zurückgeschrieben. Die ausgesuchten Rifugios waren von gut bis fantastisch zu bewerten und wir waren überglücklich mit unserer gebuchten Tour! Dank der empfohlenen Komoot-app, wo wir die Route vorher eintragen konnten, mussten wir uns um so gut wie nichts vorher kümmern. Goed georganiseerd door Bookatrekking met ontzettend hulpvaardige mensen. De AltaVia tocht door de Dolomieten was erg mooi met prima overnachtingen. Je merkt bij de mensen van deze organisatie de passie voor het avontuur en de vrijheid. Leuk om te doen en mee te maken.
