> Follow the historic pilgrimage route from Florence to Siena
> Walk through picturesque villages, cypress-lined paths, and vineyards
> Immerse yourself in the Tuscan landscape with charming accommodations along the way
The journey from Florence to Siena follows a portion of the famed Via Francigena, an ancient pilgrimage route that, since medieval times, has been traveled by pilgrims, traders, and explorers alike. This historic path connected Canterbury in England with Rome and was first documented in 990 by Archbishop Sigeric. Today, the Via Francigena is more than a pilgrimage route; it’s a path that unveils the heart of Tuscany and connects you with the region’s rich history and vibrant culture.
As you walk this route, you’ll experience the beauty of Tuscany’s rolling hills, lush vineyards, and olive groves, and the charm of timeless villages. The Via Francigena is a journey through time, with each step following in the footsteps of countless travelers. After a day of walking, you’ll find rest and relaxation in accommodations that embody authentic Tuscan hospitality—this pilgrimage is not just a physical journey, but a meaningful connection with the soul of Tuscany.
