The Full Fjord & Fjell Trail is the ideal 2-week family walking holiday in Norway. Connect with nature and the joys of hiking on child-friendly routes. Enjoy a bonding experience on this trip through the Rondane, Jotunheimen and Aurlandsdalen national parks. For added excitement, take a train to a remote cabin and a ferry across a lake.
Each stage is designed to be manageable, averaging 10 km and 5 hours per day, perfect for adventurous families (children +10). Create your own itinerary in each area, choosing loop walks based on your family's energy levels and interests. Below is our suggested itinerary to make planning easier for you and your children.
Stay in traditional Nordic cabins during the trek and in hotels or guesthouses before and after, and enjoy full board in the cabins to get you ready for the adventure. This carefully curated experience allows you to focus on enjoying the idyllic scenery and precious time with your little ones. Ready to create lasting family memories exploring Norway's national parks?
During your Fjor & Fjell Trail, we'll reserve private rooms for you in the huts (subject to availability). If private rooms are not available, we'll reach out to you to see if you'd be happy to stay in comfortable dormitories instead.
You’ll receive access to our trekking app, which serves as your complete digital travel guide for the Fjor & Fjell Trail. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for your trek: route descriptions, hiking maps, navigation support, payment information, and all the key details specific to your journey.
Accommodation at the huts includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We will arrange this for you as well. This allows you to travel lighter and have one less thing to worry about.
Accommodation before and after the trek is included. If possible, we also organize breakfast.
Our trekking app also includes built-in navigation support. With GPS-based maps and offline access, you can follow the trail confidently and stay on route even without mobile signal.
Please note that car transport to/from the start/end points and during your trip is not included. You will need to use your own car or hire a car to travel to the various locations.
Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas, ferries, etc.
Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.
Personal expenses on such as souvenirs, drinks, and other similar expenses are for your own account.
