This 6-day trek in Val di Fassa offers the perfect balance of adventure and convenience, with overnight stays before and after the hike. Starting from Campitello di Fassa, well-marked trails guide you through rugged peaks and quiet valleys, leading to the famous Passo Costalunga. Along the way, you’ll pass highlights like Col Rodella (2,484 m), Kesselkogel (3,004 m) and the stunning Lago Antermoia (2,500 m).
The route winds through high-altitude trails, rocky ridges and rolling slopes. Each night, a cosy rifugio awaits, where you'll be welcomed with warm hospitality and hearty Ladin cuisine. Take a break along the way to enjoy local dishes, soak in the scenery or reward yourself with a cold beer. These mountain huts offer the perfect place to unwind after a day on the trails.
The trek is of medium difficulty and non-technical, but despite relatively short daily distances, the T3-rated paths involve significant elevation changes. Some mountain experience is recommended. An ideal trek for those seeking a short but unforgettable adventure, surrounded by the wild beauty and rich culture of the Dolomites.
Today you will arrive in Val di Fassa and spend the night in a cosy hotel in a picturesque village in the valley, the perfect way to recharge your batteries before embarking on your adventure. Get ready for an unforgettable trek!
To get to the starting point of your route, you will need to take the bus in the morning. The itinerary begins in Campitello di Fassa, where a well-signposted path leads through meadows and wooded slopes to the first refuge. The path climbs steadily and crosses Col Rodella (2,484 m), an ideal spot for pictures. The walk is both manageable and pleasant, with gentle hairpin bends. Along the way you'll be rewarded with views of the Sassolungo massif and the valleys below.
At the end of the day you'll reach your refuge, where a hearty local meal and a warm retreat will set the tone for the adventures to come.
The path begins on a gentle slope and heads west towards the Sandro Pertini mountain hut, an ideal place to warm up your legs. Continuing along the well-signposted path, the route gradually descends into Val Duron, passing by the Rifugio Micheluzzi, the ideal place to stop and recharge your batteries before the more challenging part of the stage.
The final stretch is a steady climb to the Sas de Dona (2,665m), where the landscape changes to towering limestone peaks. From here it's a rewarding descent to your accommodation for the night, the Rifugio Antermoia (2,496m) in the heart of the Catinaccio massif.
We will send you on your way with a digital travel guide that includes a route description for the Val di Fassa Trek, interactive hiking maps, and the most important information applicable to your trek
During your Val di Fassa Trek, you will spend your nights in mountain huts. In the mountain huts we normally only book dormitories, but we can look into private rooms on request. If the private rooms are fully booked or not available in the hut, we automatically book a bed in dormitories for you. Please note that private rooms are more expensive and there will be an additional charge for this.
Accommodation at the huts includes dinner and breakfast. We will arrange this for you as well. This allows you to travel lighter and have one less thing to worry about. Bear in mind that lunch is not included, but it can be purchased at the huts. Here you can also buy an array of snacks and bottled water.
Accommodation before and after the trek is included. Breakfast is part of your stay.
You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport.
Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas etc.
Half-board is included in the price of this trek. Lunch, however, is not. You can get something to eat at the mountain huts along the way.
Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.
Personal expenses on such as souvenirs, drinks, and other similar expenses are for your own account.
