The Stubai High Trail, known in German as the Stubaier Höhenweg, is a circular hut-to-hut trail that loops around the Stubai valley (Stubaital) in the Stubai Alps of Tyrol, Austria, starting and finishing in Neustift im Stubaital. You can walk the whole circuit in 8 or 9 days, or pick a shorter stretch of 3 to 5 days. This guide gives you the real stage distances, an honest account of where it gets hard, and the practical information you need on huts, transport and timing. That's coming from me, writing this from the offices of Bookatrekking.com (and even though it's very nice here), what I wouldn't give for a getaway to the Balkans or an adventure in the Chilean Patagonia or an expedition in Nepal or an ascent to the roof of Africa...
