The Everest Panorama View trek is literally one of the most rewarding trekking destinations in the Khumbu region (Everest region), in Nepal. It starts from the busy city of Kathmandu with a short and majestic mountain flight to Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to the Everest region. The Everest Panorama View trek follows the Dudkosi River valley into the Sagarmatha National park, passing gorgeous rhododendron flowers, Buddhist monasteries, mani walls and an array of pine forests with diverse flora and fauna. Furthermore, our trekking towards the gorgeous Sherpa village of Namche Bazar is outstanding. Namche Bazaar itself one of the most important towns of the Khumbu region. It's a small beautiful village with awe-inspiring mountain views of the Himalayas, where you will be enjoying the unique culture and traditions of the native Sherpa people. Namche is well known as the capital of the Everest region, since you find all kinds of products. Namche has many facilities providing banking services and quality trekking and climbing equipment.

In Namche Bazaar we basically take an acclimatization day for our trip. After resting a day in Namche, we hike towards our destination for next few days. On the way we visit Tengboche, whith its well-renowned monastery, located at 4035m, the highest monastery in the Khumbu region. We also visit Khumjung and Khunde, villages which are known as the twin Sherpa villages of Khumbu region. From here we will have amazing views of the Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6812m) Thamserku (6623m) and many more.

Fly to Lukla , trek to Phakding

Duration: 02:30 h

We’ll board a flight to Lukla (2810m). You will be able to enjoy the beauty of splendid hills, rivers and mountains during the 30 minute flight. On reaching Lukla airport, you’ll be introduced to your porter, and served a wholesome breakfast. After that, we will head north to Phakding (2620m). It is an easy 3 hour hike through the Dudhkoshi valley. We will head north from the airstrip to Chheplung (2700m) and cross the crystal clear Thadokoshi on a locally built suspension bridge. Past the bridge, you can witness KusamKanggru (6367m), which is one of the toughest mountains to conquer. Away from the ThadoKoshi, the trail continues towards the Ghat (2590m) and we will cross a ridge marked with painted Mani stones. We will reach the beautiful tribal village of Phakding where you will stay overnight.

Trek to Namche Bazaar

Heading for the Namche Bazaar, we cross through the hamlet of Zamphute and Tok Tok to see dazzling Thamserku glistening in the sun that stays all the way with us in most of our trek. Passing through the scenic Sherpa villages of Benkar, Chumoa and Monjo, we reach Utche Choling Gompa on a bluff abutting the Dudhkoshi river and further we make our way between the bluff to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO declared world heritage site. Completing halfway to Namche Bazaar, we head for the second half of the march that would likely to take more time due to steep climb at the end. Crossing through the last village of Jorsale, a steep stepped path leads us to an amazing high bridge over the Dudhkoshi River gorge and just before this bridge, the Dudhkoshi is met by its tributary, the BhoteKoshi.

Acclimatize at Namche Bazaar

We have an acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar. To help our body better adapt to the high altitude, we can take short walks or climb few hundred feet during the day to have a look in the villages, houses, terraced fields and snowy mountains of Kwangde, Khumbu peak, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru and the village’s big weekly event, the Saturday market to have fun mingling with the crowds and watching men and women in traditional attire.

Included

  • Pick up and transfer to and from airport

    If needed, your transfers from and to the airport are included.

  • Transfers

    All necessary transfers (bus, taxi, flights, etc.) as described in the programme are included.

  • Staying in Lodge or Guest House during the trek

    During the trek, we stay in lodges or teahouses. These are simple in nature, but fully equipped. Do not expect too much luxury.

  • English speaking guide and a porter

    One porter per two trekkers. This way you don’t have to carry your complete equipment yourself. The guide speaks English.

  • Salary, food, insurance, and accommodation for guide and porter

    The total amount covers not only your own basics, but also those of your guide and porter. No unpleasant surprises.

  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

    Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared during the trek. The meals are basic, but will give you enough energy for your appetite. Fruit is also available after each meal.

  • Coffee and Tea

    Coffee and tea are also organized by the trekking company. Every morning fresh coffee and tea are made. There are scheduled breaks to enjoy this.

  • Permit and TIMS

    The total amount includes costs for the permits needed for the Everest View Trek. This also applies to the TIMS Card, to the Trekkers Information Management System.

  • Down Jacket and Sleeping Bags

    In order to pull in the Himalayas as prepared as possible, it is important to bring a good down jacket and sleeping bag. These are provided by your trekking company.

  • T-Shirt & Route Map

    We also have a t-shirt and a route map for you. Not only are they ideal for trekking, but they are also beautiful souvenirs.

  • Assistant Guide for a Group of over 6 People

    If your group is larger than 6 people, we will take an extra assistant guide with you to support you.

  • Altitude Sickness & First Aid Kit

    The guides carry an altitude sickness kit to monitor your pulse rate, oxygen saturation, and heart rate twice a day (very useful for monitoring the symptoms of altitude sickness (AMS) at altitude).

  • Return flights Kathmandu / Ramechhap – Lukla

    The trekking begins and ends with an exciting flight. The cost of flights to and from Lukla is included in the price and will be booked with your trekking company. From March-May and September-November flights are operated from Ramechhap, a 4-hour drive east of Kathmandu.

Excluded

  • Visa for Nepal

    Your trekking company will not take responsibility for the travel visa for Nepal. This should be organized by yourself. Contact your local Nepalese embassy for the latest visa information.

  • Flights to and from Nepal

    The total amount is also exclusive of flights to and from Nepal. To get an idea of which airlines are flying on Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), have a look online.

  • Accommodation in Kathmandu including breakfast

    Before and after the trek you have to take care of your own accommodation.

  • Personal expenses

    All personal expenses such as drinks at the bar, washing and other similar expenses are for your own account.

  • Travel Insurance Including Repatriation

    Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. It is important that your travel insurance also covers adventures at a high altitude. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before you travel to Nepal.

  • Tipping

    Tips for guides and porters are exclusive. 10% of the total amount is an excellent target price, but the final amount is up to you.

  • Desserts, Hot Shower, Hot Water, Mineral Water and Wi-Fi

    Certain luxuries such as desserts, a hot shower, hot running water, bottles of mineral water and Wi-Fi should be missed during a typical trek in the Himalayas. The water we encounter along the way is drinkable and is heated or boiled by us.
