Luangnamtha – Ban Nalan Neua (Kmu tribe)

Namha Villages Experience will start with a half an hour drive by minivan to the beginning point of the hike. The first part of the hike is up the hill for an hour among the secondary forest. Soon we descend down to the stream and entering the primary forest, where you will see a lot of big old trees, some of them are a few hundred years old. You will continue trekking up some down trails before stopping for a fantastic local lunch. After lunch, we will hike for about an hour or two until we reach the village by mid-afternoon. For the rest of the day, you can play with the local children, walk around the village or collect some wild vegetables with the local people for dinner. This is an opportunity to interact with the local people in the village, to go fishing with them or to enjoy a cool swim in the clear water of the Namha river. You will enjoy a locally prepared delicious dinner and then relax by the campfire at night before going to bed.

Ban Nalan Neua – Ban Nalan Tai – Ban Nam Koi – Luang Namtha

Villagers always wake up early, so be prepared for an early start! Take a walk around the village to see how the village people prepare for their day. Watch them do farm work, or doing their bamboo weaving work. After eating breakfast, it’s time for us to depart from the village (around 9 AM local time) and hike to visit the next village of Ban Nam Koi (Lantan tribe). It’s a tiny village located on the riverbank, and it is very famous for making bamboo paper and indigo dying.

We will spend some time there before heading over the mountain. We will walk until we arrive to the Lantan village of Ban Nam Lue located nearby the main road. This is where we end the trekking trip. Our transport will be waiting to bring us back to town in the late afternoon.
