Take a short stroll along one of the many crystal-clear lakes to get in the mood. With four days of exploration ahead, you might want to start things off slowly—maybe with an Austrian beer or a coffee on the terrace.

Sankt Gilgen - Strobl

Along the way, you’ll pass through forests and alpine meadows. Be sure to stop in St. Wolfgang, known for its stunning Baroque church, before continuing on to Strobl. Today’s trail follows the tranquil banks of the Ischler Ache, a peaceful river that guides you to Bad Ischl, the famous spa town. The route leads you through picturesque valleys and quiet forests, with the gentle sound of the river for company. In Bad Ischl, take the chance to visit the Kaiservilla, once the summer residence of Emperor Franz Joseph. Or, for a classic Austrian experience, treat yourself to a Sachertorte in a traditional coffee house—well deserved after a lovely day’s walk.
