Are you looking for a cool hut-to-hut tour with all the natural highlights of Triglav National Park, but not looking for difficult Via Ferratas? Then you've come to the right place. This circular hut tour starts from Lake Bohinj, leads you to beautiful high-altitude mountain huts and brings you back to Lake Bohinj via the "Valley of the 7 Triglav Lakes". This hut-to-hut tour can certainly not be underestimated with hiking days of at least 5 hours and many meters of vertical gain, but this tour requires no experience with Via Ferrata.

Lake Bohinj - Mostnica Gorge - Vodnikov dom na Velem polju (1817 m)

Distance: 12.2 km
Ascent: 1330 m
Descent: 50 m
On the first day you will travel on your own initiative to Lake Bohinj. From Stara Fuzina, the village next to the lake, your trekking adventure begins. Turn onto a forest path to arrive at Mostnica Gorge after about a kilometre and a half. A beautiful gorge with clear blue water. You cross the Devil's Bridge towards the Voje Valley. There is a nice saga about this bridge, perhaps a Slovenian you meet along the way will tell you more about it. Once crossed, you continue your journey through the Voje Valley to arrive at your accommodation for the night; Vadnikov dom na Velem polju (1817 m). After a hike of about 6 hours, you may enjoy a well-deserved rest here.

Vadnikov dom na Velem polju (1817 m) - Koca na Dolicu (2210 m)

Distance: 4.66 km
Ascent: 480 m
Descent: 120 m

Where many try to reach the summit of Mount Triglav today, we avoid the crowds and cross directly to Koca na Dolicu hut at 2210 m altitude. Enjoy your breakfast as descending is out of the question today. In about 2 hours you will hike through the beautiful limestone mountains on a not-too-technical trail. If you're lucky you'll spot an ibex today!

*If you also want to climb Mount Triglav today, you can. You will need Via Ferrata equipment for this and you should plan for an extra 3-4 hours for this day. Ask our Trekking Experts about the possibilities.

Koca na Dolicu (2210 m) - Koca pri Triglavskih jezerih (Triglav Lakes Valley Hut) (1685 m)

After two days of climbing, today we can descend and enjoy the trails. On this relatively easy day, you will hike through the world-famous Triglav Lakes Valley. You will pass many mountain lakes and eventually arrive at the Triglave Lakes Valley Hut at 1685 metres where you will spend the night.

Included

  • Booking the huts

    We will take care of arranging accommodation on the Julian Alps for you. We will also provide you with a detailed itinerary for every stage and instructions on how to get to the trailhead.

  • Full travel guide

    We will send you on your way with a digital travel guide that includes a route description for the Julian Alps, interactive hiking maps, and the most important information applicable to your trek

  • Accommodation

    During your Julian Alps, you will spend your nights in mountain huts. In the mountain huts we normally only book dormitories, but we can look into private rooms on request. If the private rooms are fully booked or not available in the hut, we automatically book a bed in dormitories for you. Please note that private rooms are more expensive and there will be an additional charge for this.

  • Half-board

    Accommodation at the huts includes dinner and breakfast. We will arrange this for you as well. This allows you to travel lighter and have one less thing to worry about. Bear in mind that lunch is not included, but it can be purchased at the huts. Here you can also buy an array of snacks and bottled water.

  • Traveling to and from

    You have to make your own way to the starting point. The total amount does not include personal transport.

  • Transfers

    Should you need any form of (public) transport on location, this is not part of the trekking package. This includes the use of taxi, bus, cable cars, gondolas etc.

  • Lunch

    Half-board is included in the price of this trek. Lunch, however, is not. You can get something to eat at the mountain huts along the way.

  • Travel Insurance

    Your international travel insurance is your own responsibility. Discuss your itinerary with the insurance company before your trek.

  • Personal expenses

    Personal expenses on such as souvenirs, drinks, and other similar expenses are for your own account.

  • Via Ferrata equipment

    Via Ferrata equipment (helmet, harness, via ferrata set) are not included in the price, but will be available for rent in the town(s) close to the starting point.
