In Nepal, we collaborate with one of the best local trekking companies. You’ll be taken care off upon arrival in Kathmandu until you finish your trip. Our local team knows the route well and they make sure your stay in the accommodations along the trek is as comfortable as it can be. Dil, our head of operations in Nepal, tells us why the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a perfect first Himalayan trek. “This trek features many highlights including the climb up Poon Hill with magnificent views across the Annapurna’s and other iconic mountains. The Annapurna Base Camp itself is not extremely high, and makes it a great first introduction to altitudes above 4000 meters. Besides, if you for whatever reason cannot make it to the base camp, you can descend before reaching it. Our Annapurna Base Camp trek guide makes sure you stay safe and comfortable!” Curious how you can make this trek happen for you? Get in touch today.
There are two ways to do the trek to Annapurna Base Camp. On the 12-day classic tour you basically walk a horseshoe trek while ticking off all the highlights, including Poon Hill. It involves 10 trekking days. The 9-day accelerated version of the ABC trek follows a more direct route towards the Annapurna Base Camp, still visiting some of the major attractions on this route. On this tour you fly to the Annapurna region rather than drive from Kathmandu. Here’s an overview of both options.

It's crucial to note that all Annapurna Base Camp tours include the compensation, meals, lodging, and insurance for both guides and porters. While this may seem straightforward, not every company ensures these provisions for their on-the-ground staff.
Flight prices to Kathmandu can vary, but Tribhuvan International Airport is well-connected, particularly by some Gulf state airlines such as Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways. Flights from Europe can be found for less than 800 EUR, while deals from the east coast of the USA may be around 1000 EUR. Nepal stands out as a remarkably affordable country. High-quality accommodation can be secured for less than 50 EUR, and dining in local restaurants is generally economical and offers delicious fare.
In recent years, trekking in Nepal has gained significant popularity, leading to a growth of tea houses along the country's trekking routes. The more renowned your chosen route, the higher the quality of available tea houses. Consequently, the tea houses and lodges along the Annapurna Base Camp Trek offer excellent value for money. Anticipate amenities such as flush toilets, hot showers, and, in some instances, even wireless internet in the lower elevations. It's worth noting that there may be an additional charge for the use of these facilities. As you ascend beyond 4000 meters, accommodations become somewhat more basic. Nevertheless, your stay in the traditional Nepali villages is bound to be memorable.
