As a trekking agency, we work with the best trekking companies in Nepal. You’ll be looked after from your arrival in Kathmandu until the moment you finish your journey. Our local team has lots of experience on the Poon Hill trek and they will make sure your trek runs smoothly. Our team leader in Nepal, Dil, emphasizes that the Poon Hill trek is the quickest way to experience the grandeur of the Himalayas without using up all your holidays. “You can trek to Poon Hill and experience the local culture as well as seeing some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas”, he says. “It’s also a relatively easy trek. Most treks in Nepal are high altitude. The Poon Hill trek itinerary doesn't exceed 3210 meters, which is the highest point on top of Poon Hill. That makes the trip accessible to most hikers." Note that, despite the low difficulty, it's not allowed to do the trek without guide.
The Poon Hill trek can be done in 5 days from and back to Kathmandu. However, this option is a lineair hike and we choose to offer a more attractive package. Our 7-day trip is a longer version of the Poon Hill trek itinerary, where you hike a loop in the foothills of the Annapurnas. Travel from and back to Kathmandu is in both cases by tourist bus. Before and after the trek you stay in a hotel in beautiful Pokhara. Let’s take a closer look at this option.

Prices of flights to Kathmandu vary, but Tribhuvan International Airport is well-served by some of the Gulf state airlines, such as Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways. You can find a flight from Europe for less than 800 EUR whereas you may find a deal for around 1000 EUR from the east coast of the USA. Nepal is a very affordable country. A good quality accommodation can be found for less than 50 EUR and eating in local restaurants is generally cheap and very tasty.
In recent times, trekking in Nepal has become increasingly popular, resulting in the establishment of numerous tea houses along the trekking routes in the country. The better-known the route you choose, the higher the quality of the available tea houses. Consequently, the accommodations and lodges along the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek provide excellent value for your money. Expect amenities like modern toilets, hot showers, and, in some cases, even wireless internet at lower elevations. It's important to mention that there might be an extra fee for using these facilities.
