On day 1 we will pick you up at the airport or any Lombok arrival port or any hotel in this area (Airport, Kuta, Selong belanak, Praya, Lembar, Mataram, Senggigi, Batulayar, Mangsit, Kecinan, Teluk Nara, Teluk Kode, Bangsal, Tanjung & Tete Batu). We will then drive you to Senaru. Go local with Rinjani Trekking Center and sleep the first night in a homestay (deluxe room) in Senaru. Village life on it’s purest. On this package, you will visit: Senaru, the Crater RIM Senaru & the Tropical Forest.
From the Crater Rim, you will be able to see the lake and the summit of Mount Rinjani, but you will not be visiting them. From the crater Rim you will also be able to enjoy a wonderful sunset and the views of Agung mountain at Bali islands, and Gili Islands.
*This trek is available from April 1st to December 31st due to climatic reasons.
Our driver will pick you up at Lombok International Airport or any other area in Lombok, transfer direct to Senaru Village. From airport will take about 3 hours to get to Senaru Village. Check in at Home Stay. If still enough time you can have a Senaru waterfall tour. Senaru’s best known attraction is the Sendang Gila waterfall which attracts many thousands of Indonesian and foreign visitors annually. Located at about 600m above sea level, the waterfall is an easy 20 minutes walk down a graded trail and steps from Senaru Village, a pleasant alternative return route winds along the edge of the steep valley, following the irrigation canal.
For the more adventurous, Senaru’s “second waterfall” Tiu Kelep is another hour’s walk upriver from Sendang Gila. The scramble over rocks through the tropical forest is rewarded by the beauty of the waterfall and a swim in its deep pool. It is said locally that every time you swim behind the main waterfall of Tiu Kelep you become a year younger! (Note: Waterfall Tour is not included)
At 7 pm, you will meet the guide for trekking briefing. If your arrival is late, trekking briefing can be done in the morning after breakfast.
Our driver will pick you up at the hotel lobby at 07.30 AM (after Breakfast) and will take you to the Gate of Rinjani National Park (about 1km from the hotel). Register at Rinjani National Park Registration Office in Senaru. Your guide will arrange the National Park entry tickets and then the trekking will begin.
The first hours of the trek are a steep climb through thick tropical forests rich in flora, bird life and a variety of butterflies. You might see orchids and, if you are lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as Lutung. Rest stops are taken along the way. Under normal conditions, lunch will be served at Post II.
Depending on your physical condition and weather conditions, the night camp will be set either in the forest at post 3 Mondokon Lolak (2,000m) after about five hours climbing from senaru, or continue the ascend for another couple of hours through grassy meadows up to Plawangan 1 Senaru crater rim at 2,641m. From the crater rim you will enjoy sweeping views of the lake Segara Anak (2,00m) and the summit of Mt. Rinjani.
