Gesäuse Kiddies Trek

Your adventure begins in Kaiserau, a sunny and open alpine plateau that's perfect for warming up your legs. From here, the trail leads you steadily uphill through forest paths and open meadows, offering fantastic views of the rugged Gesäuse mountains. Along the way, you'll spot alpine flowers and maybe even a marmot or two!

After a gentle but steady climb, you'll reach the Oberst-Klinke-Hütte, perched at 1,486 metres. This cosy alpine hut welcomes you with friendly hosts and a panoramic view over the Enns valley. A perfect place to relax, play and enjoy your first night in the mountains with the whole family.

From the cosy Oberst-Klinke-Hütte, today's trail winds through forests and meadows, offering just the right mix of ups and downs. It's a scenic ridge walk, with fresh air, birdsong and the mighty Gesäuse peaks watching over you. Little explorers will love the changing landscapes and open views.

After about two and a half hours on the trail, you arrive at the inviting Mödlingerhütte. Nestled between alpine pastures, it's the perfect place to rest your legs, grab something tasty and enjoy the mountain calm. Another day of adventure, another night under the stars.

Note: Payment at Mödlingerhütte is not included in your package price. We reserve your stay, but accommodation and half board (approx. €75 per person) must be paid in cash at the hut.

The final morning of your mountain adventure begins with one last look from the Mödlingerhütte: mist in the valleys, peaks glowing in the early light. Then it's time to descend. Through the forest, along soft trails, every step feels like a gentle goodbye to the mountains.

The village of Johnsbach welcomes you at the bottom, quiet, peaceful and full of charm. You've done it! Three days of hiking, fresh air and alpine memories with the family. Legs may be tired, but hearts? Full to the brim.
