Chairlift top station - Chalet Korosica Velika Planina

Duration: 03:21 h
Distance: 8.92 km
Ascent: 310 m
Descent: 330 m

A gentle but proper mountain wander across Velika Planina, made for families who like big skies without big drama. Rolling pastures, wooden huts and wide-open views do the talking here. The route dances between Mala Planina and Velika Planina, with Gradišče above the scene at 1,666 metres. Lovely stuff, alp magic with a soft landing.

From the chairlift, the path eases onto the plateau and swings past Domžalski dom na Mali Planini before opening toward the Velika Planina viewpoint. You roll through grassy bowls near Jarški Dom, with views toward Mala Planina, Bukovec and the Alps. The climbs and dips are steady rather than spicy, just enough to keep little legs proud.

The final stretch slips past the shepherds’ settlement, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows, alpine huts and the Velika Planina pastures. Arrival at Domžalski dom na Mali Planini feels exactly right: wooden warmth, mountain air, and that happy silence after a day well played.
