In Nepal, we work with one of the best trekking companies in the country. You’ll be looked after upon arrival in Kathmandu until the moment you finish your trip. Our local crew has lots of experience in the Langtang Valley and they will make sure your trek runs smoothly. Our team leader in Nepal, Dil, emphasizes that the Langtang trek is the quickest way to experience the true Himalayas without blowing all your holidays. “You can trek up the Langtang Valley and immerse yourself in the local culture as well as seeing some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas”, he says. “It’s also a fairly easy trek: You have the option to go quite high (up to 4985m), but you can stay in Kyanjin Gompa as well, and marvel at the mountains from your tea house.” Our Langtang trek itinerary provides flexibility and caters to both trekkers with altitude ambitions as well as leisure hikers who want to see it all while taking it easy.
The Langtang Valley trek can be done in 8 days or even less. The trailhead is relatively close to Kathmandu and therefore the Langtang Valley options are attractive in terms of price. At Bookatrekking.com we currently offer the classic package. The 8-day trip is the standard Langtang Valley trek itinerary, with two nights in a hotel in Syabrubesi and bus travel to and from the trailhead. Let’s take a closer look at this 8-day option.

Prices of flights to Kathmandu vary, but Tribhuvan International Airport is well-served by some of the Gulf state airlines, such as Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways. You can find a flight from Europe for less than 800 EUR whereas you may find a deal for around 1000 EUR from the east coast of the USA. Nepal is a very affordable country. A good quality accommodation can be found for less than 50 EUR and eating in local restaurants is generally cheap and very tasty.
Trekking in Nepal has become very popular in recent years, and more and more tea houses have popped up along Nepal’s trekking routes. The more popular your route, the better the quality of your tea house is. Hence, the tea houses and lodges on the Langtang Valley Trek are great value for money. In some tea houses in the lower part of the valley you can expect flush toilets, hot showers and in some cases even wireless internet. The use of these amenities is usually at an additional charge. Higher up in Kyanjin Gompa, the accommodation is a little more basic. Regardless, your stay in the traditional Nepali villages will be memorable.
For trekking in Langtang National Park, you need the following permits:
TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System)
This permit is important for every trekker wishing to trek in Nepal. From the Annapurna Circuit to the trek to Poon Hill, all trekking routes require this permit. This costs NRS 2000 per person. This equals about 17 USD or 15 EUR.
Langtang National Park entrance fee
The Langtang trek leads through the Langtang National Park. This costs an additional 25 USD.
All permits are included and we'll take care of that!
