An important note to make is that our Island Peak tour include the salary, food, accommodation and insurance for the guides and porters. This sounds normal but not every organization makes these arrangements for their people on the ground.
Prices of flights to Kathmandu vary, but Tribhuvan International Airport is well-served by some of the Gulf state airlines, such as Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways. You can find a flight from Europe for less than 800 EUR whereas you may find a deal for around 1000 EUR from the east coast of the USA. Nepal is a very affordable country. A good quality accommodation can be found for less than 50 EUR and eating in local restaurants is generally cheap and very tasty.

The quality of the tea houses improves with the popularity of the route. Therefore, the Island Peak Trek offers good value for money, with tea houses and lodges providing amenities such as flush toilets, hot showers, and, in some instances, wireless internet in the lower regions. These amenities usually come with an extra cost. As you ascend beyond 4000 meters, especially on routes like the Everest Base Camp trek, accommodation becomes more basic. Nonetheless, your stay in the traditional Sherpa villages will be a memorable experience.
