Distance: 13.1 km
Ascent: 1510 m
Descent: 60 m
The expedition to Rinjani National Park will commence early with a 6 am wake-up followed by breakfast at 6:30 am. After a quick pack-up, a mountain car will transport you to Sembalun Village, a 45-minute journey. Upon arrival around 8 am, we'll check in at the Rinjani National Park Office for tickets before setting out on our trek. The day's journey will cover roughly 8-9 hours, with stops at various POS (shelters) for breaks and meals. The stops include Pos 1 for a short break, Pos 2 for a 2-hour lunch and rest, and brief halts at Pos 3 and Pos 4. Each pause offers a unique view of Rinjani's landscapes, with refreshments and snacks provided. The day culminates with a challenging climb, leading us to the scenic Sembalun crater rim by 5:30 pm. Here, as the sun sets, tents will be set up for the night, followed by a hearty dinner. As darkness envelops the landscape, trekkers can unwind and rejuvenate, gearing up for the next day's early summit trek.

Crater rim sembalun - summit - Crater rim Sembalun - Lake & Hot springs - Crater rim Senaru

Duration: 11:22 h
Distance: 14.4 km
Ascent: 1610 m
Descent: 1660 m

Waking up at 2:00 am, a light breakfast of hot bread with jam, chocolate, and hot beverages will be prepared to fuel your summit climb. The journey to the top typically takes 3-4 hours, varying with your pace, and involves three stages: a moderate initial climb, followed by a relatively easier but longer trek, and finally, the challenging "letter E" stage marked by steep inclines and slippery terrain. Reaching the summit rewards you with a magnificent sunrise view, offering sights of Lombok Island, Agung Mountain in Bali, and Tambora Mountain in Sumbawa.

After basking in the sunrise and capturing memories, you'll descend back to the campsite for a well-deserved breakfast and rest. Later, a 3-hour trek will take you to a lake and hot springs where you can indulge in a relaxing swim and explore the pilgrimage springs, while lunch is being prepared. The post-lunch journey, lasting another 3 hours, leads to Senaru crater rim, presenting yet another mesmerizing view, particularly of Agung Mountain in Bali and the smoky expanse of a new volcano. The day ends with a delightful dinner beneath the vast starry sky.
