Tour des Combins

The Tour des Combins is tucked away between the popular routes of the Tour du Mont Blanc, and the Walker's Haute Route. This trek, covering nearly 100 kilometers, takes you mostly through Switzerland but also briefly touches Italy. Wander around the impressive "Massif des Combins" and along vast lakes such as Lac de Mauvoisin and Lac des Toules. Think of it as the Tour du Mont Blanc without the crowds. A hut-to-hut trek for enthusiasts.Tranquil trails, authentic huts, the Alps at their grandest, and Switzerland and Italy at their best. The Tour des Combins is one of the better-kept hut-to-huts, and though we prefer to keep it that way, we're sharing it with you!

If there were a list of the most beautiful lakes in Europe, the Oeschinensee, or Lake Oeschinen, would rank high. Sure, there is Lago di Braies, Lake Bled or Lac Blanc, but there is something very special about this marvellous spot in Switzerland. And UNESCO agrees because the Oeschinensee is a World Heritage site. We are not here to tell you which is the most beautiful lake in the Alps but the Swiss would probably tell you it’s the Oeschinensee. De Oeschinen Lake is not just a pretty picture for Instagram, it is also a top destination for hiking, rowing, and in winter even ice skating.
